The lost children of Uzushiogakure
10 things I would have liked instead of Boruto (this is NOT a dissing post!)
If you like Boruto, well, good for you? I simply couldn’t care less about it personally. However, there are things that I did totally care about, and I’m quite sad and disappointed they’re most likely never going to happen.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
1. Madara’s missing siblings
This is something I’ve always felt unfair. We got to know all four Senju brothers both by face and name (even if they’re just a leaf in the whole forest), but not the five Uchiha siblings. I’m not even asking for much, just give me a single panel of them with a name and I’d already be glad enough.
I was so iffed by this, that I named them myself in my Uchiha clan tree, following the common convention of naming all five siblings after the Northern Shinshu range. By the way, mothers would have been appreciated too…
2. Uzushio's lore
For being the home of one of the most influential clans in the series, we were only fed a few crumbs. Lore states it was destroyed, but barely anything is known about this village (my joke theory of it).
3. Sakumo Hatake’s mission
It’s difficult to believe how popular this character is for the very little we know of him. Yes, he’s Kakashi’s father, a supposed hero of Konoha until he fell in disgrace and offed himself.
That’s all, literally ALL we know! Which is not near enough. I keep hopelessly hoping that some day Kishimoto might write another anniversary oneshot for Sakumo, like he did for Minato.
4. Jinchuriki background
Ok, at least this one I’m sure many fans will agree with. Out of the nine jinchuriki, we only got decent story for 1/3 of them (Naruto, Gaara and Killer Bee). That leaves 6 people with nothing! Look, I’m not saying they have to be as fleshed out as the very protagonist… but c’mon, can’t you really give me anything?
This is one of the times that I deeply thank Studio Pierrot for at least bringing us the Utakata’s filler arc, and making Fuu showing up in the second chuunin exams.
5. The new Three-Deadlock
Sigh, so much for trying to sell us Team 7 as the new sannin… In reality? Meh, not so much. Listen, I’m partial to Sasuke but I totally love Sakura, and I think they should have been given sage mode too. In fact, I never understood why Tsunade and Orochimaru never got it.
6. Hashirama’s and Mito’s family
Self-explanatory. Who the heck were HashiMito children/Tsunade’s parents? O_O
7. Kirigakure's bloody story
We don’t know how, why or when it began. Some theories attribute it to Yagura, but others appoint it to the third mizukage, whom we don’t even know the name of, less his personality.
If you're interested, I fan-named him here, along many other Naruto characters.
8. Origins of Hidan and Kakuzu
They are the only two akatsuki we don’t know how they ended up like that. It is said that Kakuzu was a Taki-nin that stole a forbidden jutsu and defected, but we don’t really know anything about his life aside that. Hidan is the same case.
9. The downfall of Konoha’s counselors
Those two crawling maggots, those two hypocritical cockroaches, those stinky rotten corrupted… yeah, you know who I’m talking about for sure, even without names. Danzou had it coming, but those two never got the karma fix they deserved! Ò_Ó
10. Legendary battles that we never saw happen
This soon will get a future post itself, so stay tuned! XD
EDIT: it's already done!
I second the oc for undeveloped clans anon. The Uzumaki is a point of interest for me with their fuuinjutsu and bcs I want a survivor other than kushina who can take care of naruto and teach him of his heritage(children of the sea and whirlpools)
The Uzumaki is such a fun clan to play with!! We're given both so much for them and so little, and also just like. Entire handfuls of fascinating implications that you can absolutely grab onto with both hands and run away with.
My favorite Uzumaki clan thing to dabble with is their connection to the shinigami-- who knows what fucked up death god shit they might have been playing with behind closed doors.
Not to mention the implication of them having bloodline limits (Karin) within the clan. It's clearly not a common one, as we dont see it again in any of the other few Uzumaki we meet (as far as I'm aware), and it makes me wonder if it came from them integrating other clans into their own in Uzushio. And if so, if there were possibly more clans with their own bloodline limits mixed and merged into the overall Uzumaki.
Honestly, working with that thought, I wonder if there's an AU out there where they married Hashirama to Mito in an attempt to merge the Senju into their village,, A backup plan for Konoha, which was still just a dream at the time-- if Hashirama couldn't make his own shinobi village, he would just join one of the only ones there was. Even if it means giving up being a Senju
Could be cute. Could be interesting.
Uzushio clothing concepts- based on my hc than Uzushio was some weird mix of ancient Grecian and Japanese culture(for the most part)
the four concepts here are based off four characters of different ranks/status/roles within Uzu's official systems
first up is concepts based on my oc Mitomi and what she wears in the modern era in a world post Uzu's fall but based off of the island as its current 'kage' living in the leaf village (its a bit complicated but eh) her outfits reflect the changing tide and how one has to adjusts to the narrative as it comes
second is what Naruto would have worn had he been raised in the Uzumaki clan on the island as just a normal everyday member of the Uzumaki clan- i hc that the Uzumaki clan is the highest ranking clan within Uzu and thus his outfits while for everyday wear are still more elevated than that of someone from a different Uzu clan
third we have the looks that Uzumaki Yume(an oc) wore throughout her life and tenure as leader of Uzu- in her outfits we can see when the island would have started interacting more with the rest of the shinobi world because her clothes begin to adopt the looks of what would have been more common and suitable in the land of fire - also Yume's colors are what I consider the 'traditional' colors of the Uzumaki clan, those base primary colors in which 'everything' is built upon
finally the forth set of concepts belongs to someone in a advisor position, an aid to leadership or innovation, a clan elder someone who might not have come from a bigger clan but did accumulate some influence
as for what these looks would have been made out of cotton and linen- i imagine the Uzu has a fairly warm climate, but considering its location on the naruto world map I wouldn't necessarily say its tropical
as for why my hc is this specific mix... i just like the why the clothes can look combined and.. what little lore we get of Uzushio reminds me of Atlantis and greek mythology soo thats why
@thechesiremistress - since your comment on a different post mentioned this lol
Hidden Uzumaki?? AU
I have a hard time believing that all uzumaki just up and disappeared into the world after uzushio was destroyed, most probably went underground and went into hiding in various places under various fake aliases, to that degree there probably were some uzumaki who went to konoha after they announced that they’d take in any refugee uzumaki, maybe the uzumaki went to konoha and just kept under their fake aliases and disguised appearances (non-chakra kind cause shinobi would see through it) so that konoha didn’t become a second uzushio when uzumaki started coming back together
for this reason i propose the au that Umino Iruka is the child of an uzumaki person or couple who escaped to konoha, because other than his hair and eye color he’s got the tan of any tropic island native, his loud personality can easily blend with the uzumaki loudness, iruka is a frequent of ichiraku alongside naruto, he was known as a major prankster as a kid which seems in line with uzumaki playful personalities, and his name literally translates to “dolphin of the sea,” iruka meaning “dolphin” and umino meaning “of the sea” the same way gaara is called sabaku no gaara translated to gaara of the desert
i can totally see dolphins being a kind of clan symbol or even a straight up animal summon common in uzushio since they’re an island nation
also it’s a pretty much agreed upon fandom hc that uzumaki have large quantities of chakra and struggle to control it as a result, which can kinda explain iruka struggling with ninjutsu as a student in the academy
he’s shown to have some understanding of sealing for the string light barrier ninjutsu he used (though it’s seen much more frequently in boruto than in naruto) personally i hc that he created or specialized the technique and eventually taught it to his students as part of the curriculum which would explain why it’s rarely seen in naruto but more frequent in boruto especially by students of the academy (idk how reliable this is since i never read the manga but the fandom wiki says the students using the technique is special to the anime, so you could also just throw boruto out the window and say it’s iruka’s special sealing thing he taught himself and no one else)
uzushio was called the “village of longevity” and are known for their vitality which i think can explain iruka being able to keep up with higher ranked shinobi despite being only chunnin, of which is not common from what i could tell i also just think it’s funny he’s an honorary jounin in a group of famous ppl like kakashi and gai so we’re gonna take that as him being jounin level
idk what the connection between chakra sensors and uzumaki is if there even is one beside karin but i do think iruka being some kind of sensor type explains him always effortlessly finding naruto when it’s shown how naruto evades others of much higher rank and skill when he wants to
it’s stated that his parents died during the kyuubi attack that naruto was born in and he was pretty young then (prob early teens or preteen) so i can imagine if he had uzumaki features he’d have already grown up on the norm of hiding them but not been old enough to be told the truth of why
if he ever finds out then i imagine it’s by going through old stuff with his parent’s things with the info tucked into a corner alongside any valuables, or maybe he even meets karin or another sensor who feels his chakra and is like hmm this feels familiar
maybe he’s not even uzumaki necessarily, it’s possible to think he’s just a descendant of someone from uzushio who was part of a vassal clan of the uzumaki, which would explain away his non-uzumaki features
if we go down this route than we can view the “Umino” clan as being similar to the inuzuka clan with animal companions, specifically dolphins
previous reasons for him being uzumaki can still be recycled for why he’s ethnically from uzushio
this solution would explain kushina’s lacking connections in konoha, with the exception of mikoto, compared to minato who everyone seems to know personally especially since as his wife and high ranking shinobi she would have interacted with them frequently, as well as her seeming disinterest in uzushio as a cultural heritage and her people
kushina could have been discreetly in contact with several uzumaki or uzushio people in konoha, shinobi or civilian, under various disguises and just not been as invested or have time for minato’s friends or her own shinobi social circles when her lost family were right there for her to be with instead
it makes sense for their interactions to be discreet too since the uzumaki/uzushio people would have to keep their identities hidden from others and interacting regularly with a publicly known uzumaki would turn heads, plus kushina as the jinchuriki prob wasn’t well received by the civilians so from this angle too it makes sense to not be seen together so that the civilian ire wouldn’t be tracked on to already struggling and disguised uzushio families
this is now me being entirely self indulgent but i think it would also be really sweet and cute if kushina visited the disguised uzumaki/uzushio families in a matching disguise as a subtle connection to say they’re still family even if they’re in hiding
imagine kushina occasionally visiting iruka’s family and was a sort of auntie or sister figure to him growing up, and he assumed she died during the kyuubi attack like his parents when he couldn’t find any records of her whereabouts (which he wouldn’t have been wrong)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ everything from here is me just going off the rails so feel free to ignore lol ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
also who’s to say there wasn’t a reason obito reminded kushina so much of herself and has such a different personality compared to other uchiha, maybe one of his parents was an uzushio refugee that kushina didn’t know about cause they married into the uchiha clan and died before obito could ever get to know them since he grew up an orphan
i don’t want to say this is because he’s part uzushio since uchiha also have high vitality but i do think his struggles with ninjutsu as a kid could be explained by uzumaki chakra quantities and it is kinda insane how many times he sorta not-dies in canon if he was just a regular shinobi in the academy before meeting madara, maybe madara somehow knew he was part uzushio and that’s why he chose obito to bring about his plan
because how else would a regular uchiha be on the same power levels as an uchiha who’s the literal reincarnation of Indra, a sorta demigod
kinda going in circles trying to make everyone i don’t know the parents of from uzushio lol but we don’t know gai’s mom, and she could have been from uzushio too, plus gai’s summons are tortoises and we don’t know where he got them from either, so it is possible that gai’s mom was another uzushio shinobi and possessed the turtle/tortoise summon scroll before coming to konoha and marrying gai’s dad and dying somehow, or maybe gai’s dad is the one with uzushio roots though if that’s the case i imagine his parents or grandparents had moved to konoha as civilians before uzushio was destroyed and gai’s dad grew up fully thinking he was just another konoha shinobi with a civilian family, or both
Tsunade Headcanon
I hc that she’s FREAKISHLY good with sealing but doesn’t do it often bc yk… reminds her of her dead clan-
When jiraiya was learning sealing, she would come over randomly and correct his work like it was nothing and would walk off. This would make jiraiya spiral because ‘holy crap I’ve been working on this for weeks and she just?? Figures it out??’
Imagine she was taught by mito from the time that she could put ink on paper how to seal. After the uzushio massacre, that she HATED seeing anything remotely close to sealing.
It’s only until after the war that she finally thinks she’s able to do what she used to with her grandmother. She is still as good as she remembers but the first couple of times she tries, she leaves tear stains on the scrolls shes working with.
Some Uzushiogakure/Danny Phantom shit for y'all
What if Kushina felt when the barriers fell at Uzushio?
What if it sent her sprinting as fast as she could towards her first home?
What if she made it, but after the city had fallen?
What if in her grief and rage as she sat amongst the blood of her people, her family, she activated a long forgotten seal buried beneath the city?
The blood seeping through crevices to channels, flowing down the intricate seal and finally dripping down into a tomb.
Drip.
Drop.
Her chakra, her rage, the power of the Nine Tails as he relishes in her anger shines like a beacon from the center of the village.
It too seeps through the cracks.
All the way to the tomb.
Bright green bursts through the cracks beneath the lid.
______________________________________________
Kushina's rage whipped a storm about her.
The rain hid her tears as it pelted her small form, knees scrapped from when she landed hard on them.
She screamed, bending forward until her bare forehead-
The threw it so hard it lodged itself in the column of the Gates of Konoha when they tried to make her stay.
was pressed to the ruined mosaic of the village center, pounding her fists against the ground.
A sudden chill, the heaviness in the air of someone holding carefully leashed power, and a gentle hand on her shoulder.
"Child, what happened here?"
She jumps into a ready stance, a kunai in each hand.
"Who are you?"
Green. That's the first thing she notices, brighter than the leaves of any tree in Konoha.
White, then black. His hair floats as if in water and his armor appears ancient, older than the Warring Clans era. He wears no headband, but a circlet that appears made of ice. He is also floating about a foot above the ground and the rain seems to pass over him as though his mere aura kept the downpour away.
"I have many names, but of all I prefer Danny."
Kushina blinked. "What are you?"
The being, Danny, seemed to ponder for a moment. "I suppose the closest thing you would have here is a god."
That would explain the power and the fact my hair is all on end.
She licked her lips for a moment. "What are you the god of?"
"Protection, longevity," he pauses for a moment, uncertain, "Death."
"A shinigami?!" she hissed "I should have expected one to be here."
"Again I'll ask, what happened here?"
Kushina's face went entirely blank as she set her arms by her sides, hands still clenching the kunai in a white-knuckled grip. She looked out over the ruins of her birthplace, her home.
"Uzushio fell. I don't know yet who did it, I just felt the barriers fall and by the time I got here, it was deserted."
The being watched her, bright, bright, almost too bright, green, flickered across her, eyes settled on bright red hair.
"You are an Uzumaki, are you not?"
She jumped and turned back to the being. "Y-yes."
Danny grinned and began to float towards the Kage's office. "Well, not all is lost. It may have been a long time since I was sealed, but I should be able to find everything necessary. First I'll have to find the cardinal points seals to set the foundations back together, and then we'll get about the resurrection seals."
"R-resurrection seals?!" Kushina stumbled after him, entirely out of her element for once.
"Oh, yes, I forgot to mention, one of my many names."
"And what's that?"
A smile with too much teeth and vengeance behind his eyes turned back to her.
"Uzushio."
I AM ONCE AGAIN BEGGING YOU TO WRITE FOUNDERS ERA MINATO
Please? 🙏🙏🙏🥺
A/N: Because you said 'please' :)
Uzushio wakes like a seal being pressed - soft, decisive, inevitable.
Before the shell-gong, before the sea-priests thread their sutras through the spiral bridges, there is already motion in the palace: bare feet on waxed cypress, runners breathing carefully so they don’t offend the listening wards, the low hum of the outer funnels where Uzushio’s great spiral seals hold water to obedience. The air tastes of brine and ink and kelp being unwrapped for kitchens. Even the paper walls swell the width of a thumbnail, breathing with the tide.
