what my soul would look like as a place:

an old city. identical tall brick buildings, crumbling. the first few floors are filled with clear water, but you’d never know from the outside. the floors are filled with shards of glass and mirror that reflect any light and create light patterns in the water. the top floors are streaming bright welcoming light from tall glassless windows. it’s safe there. outside it’s permanently dusk and hundreds and hundreds of crows are swirling in the air. in low places a rumbling sound can be heard or felt above the sound of screaming birds. neon lights shine in pinks purples and blues from alleys and any trees in parks or squares are covered in an oil like substance and the leaves are gold. occasionally music can be heard from one of the houses with answering music from other parts of the city. no humans can be seen.
