RECOMMEND: The Greatest Showman

Putting historical accuracy aside (this is a musical afterall), The Greatest Showman was one hell of an entertaining movie. It made me feel all the right emotions.. it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. And I’m a big lover of anything that can make me feel. Smiling due to seeing a happy scene is easy. Smiling due to thoroughly enjoying and appreciating a piece of art is not. And that’s genuinely what I was doing. I was fully engrossed.

The cinematography was stunning. Some of those scenes were breath-taking. The soundtrack so well selected to correlate with those scenes, sounding even better in context of the storyline. The cast was amazing. Zac Efron’s character was surprisingly likeable after his initial introduction, although I do wish more of his and Zendaya’s characters’ interaction was shown. Also the 2 little girls were amazing and so cute!! Oh and Michelle Williams dancing contemporary was just !!!!

I have to admit the main reason I went to see this in the cinema was for Zendaya. I stan way too hard for that girl. She was elegant, strong and just amazing. What I didn’t expect was to like the movie this much for reasons other than her, but I really did. So if you get the chance to see it on the big screen, do it.
