Applying for a new apartment/condo. Filled in their application. Gave them my two most recent paystubs.
Tell me why the property manager messaged me back and asked for employment verification as well.
Is that not my paystub????

So, my (complete amnesiac) guy had the bomb dropped on him that's he's technically an undead. In the middle of the cleric's home temple of Life. By the Cleric's dad, who is also the spirit guardian and elder of said temple. Can we have an F in the chat 😔💀

SHE SAYS SHE DIDNT
She’s lying saying she didn’t but she did she did edge 5 times before hand
@fictionadventurer, I don’t want to make this post too lengthy, but to add a few notes to your notes:
Watson does say in one spot that Holmes has gotten into philosophy in retirement, and in another spot that he’s studying beekeeping and agriculture, so you're totally right there. I think he should be MORE active, but he is still intellectually active.
I kind of love the idea of Holmes undergoing a sort of reverse Miss Marple development--going from super-detective to small-town busybody. It suits him. (Sadly, the canon evidence that I remember characterizes him as reclusive and living in a fairly isolated cottage...but I’ve already decided the canon evidence may be misleading, so I’m not going to let that stop me. :P )
Watson having a wife is honestly the best explanation for him moving out of Baker Street and living in London. I’m personally not sold on him marrying a second time--mostly because we never got to meet this hypothetical wife and so we don’t “know” her--but it is the Occam’s Razor explanation.
Everyone should hang out with Father Brown if remotely possible, always. Especially Holmes.
I’m so glad someone else dislikes Mary Russell! I’ve always been put off, mainly by the massive age disparity and the absence of Watson, but as you say she does get a lot of praise. It’s reassuring to hear you’ve checked out her first book and share my opinions. (Although I did actually just find a free sample of the beginning. She does insult Watson, gratuitously so--even in the preface! Not okay. And she also brings in the “every Independent Female Character MUST wear Boy Clothes” trope in her first chapter, because we all know that women had no clothing options they could do anything in at the turn of the century.... *eyeroll*)
If you’re interested in a better “female Holmes OC,” by the way, I found a series called the “Sherlock Holmes and Lucy James Mysteries” with a long-lost daughter that’s actually nice. Not perfect, by any means, but Lucy manages to have the Holmes brains and talents without being irritating, and the writers build an ensemble cast centered on existing and new relationships instead of making her dominate the series. (She’s comfortable calling Watson “Uncle John” long before she’s comfortable calling Holmes “Father,” which is cute.)
