If you complain to a writer about their (free!!) fanfiction not being up to your literary standards, I think it should be legal (maybe even required) for said author to throw squishy vegetables at you in the town square for the rest of the day.

If you don't think you can write a fic, send someone a request.

If you don't want to request, make a post with the idea.

If you don't want to make a post, do not feed it into a machine and share the results like it's your work.

I have seen so many AI fics today. So. Many.

Here's the thing about AI. It doesn't know what gender a character is. It doesn't understand work shifts and how they function. It doesn't know the name of the hospital. And it doesn't know how many words are in a sentence apparently given the number of times I've seen "i love you" 'those five words meant everything' or the like.

And I don't want to bitch about it. I really don't but it's so goddamned disheartening. The amount of work put into creating is immense. Using AI just says that work doesn't matter.

Shit like this, and people stealing stuff, is why creators stop creating.

Telling creators they're "guilt tripping" people when they point out that tumblr was made for reblogging, is why creators stop creating.

Anonymous hate is why creators stop creating.

Commenting fandom discourse on people's work is why people stop creating.

And I know people will say, 'what difference does it make? Move on.' But tell me, when we all actually do move on and only the robots remain, will it matter then?

i don’t necessarily think the wackles are bad people, but their idea of what a good person is gonna be just. so insanely far off what 90% of people on this platform value. and that’s simply an inevitable outcome of their upbringing and lifestyles. it’s so so so important to remember that bc otherwise they WILL disappoint you and it WILL break your heart. as someone who’s been involved in hockey (as a player, coach, friend of players, and fan) for over 2 decades, i am telling you right now that if you deviate in any way from the hockey blueprint (female, poc, queer, even leftist or non-affluent), you need to learn how to love something that does not love you. and that requires keeping v v firm boundaries between reality, fiction, what you can live with and what you can’t.

probably one of the most annoying and dogshit takes i see more often than id like to. i hate complaining how much mental and emotional labor it has been to do all this paperwork and do it accurately and swiftly and their response is, "well can you blame them?" admittedly im not the idea guy who comes up with a better process for this shit but certainly, certainly someone could make it friendly to us folks who barely have the means to take a fucking shower. i just spent 3 hours filling out paperwork that asked me to fill out 1) information they have admitted to me they already fucking have and 2) justifying whats so wrong with me that i deserve special attention.

do not tell me you understand this process being so rough is literally killing disabled folks and then defend it against a hypothetical straw man to be wary of in the same breath. people with real, recordable disabilities are getting denied access to this help and you think someone who DOESN'T have miles of medical records to prove said disability is going through the time, energy, and years it takes to fight for it? you really fucking think someone cares that much about getting government support that barely funds jack shit and all?

give me a fucking break holy shit. an appalling opinion to carry. the worst rhetoric to spread. you dont trust the government but you trust them to be able to tell the difference of people who are lying about being disability (basically nobody) and not? the definition of absurd.

i’m hoping to move this summer so i posted in a facebook group to try to find a roommate.

just made a standard post like the others i’ve seen. what i’m looking for, some stuff about me, some photos, etc.

one person commented “cooked 💀” and another commented “no” and something about “straight pride”

i know i shouldn’t let it get to me. they’re randos on the internet. but it did get to me. and i’m fucking upset. it’s a post searching for fucking roommates. there’s literally absolutely no reason at all to comment anything mean or homophobic bullshit.

not that there ever is but like. the post wasn’t about that. the post clearly wasn’t for you. the post was just meant to help me find a roommate. it didn’t warrant bitch ass bigoted comments. i’m so tired.

Yiffy was doom from the beginning to not have an normal childhood. I may not have all the details about candy Jade but from what I saw in beyond canon and the discussion on the epilogues, candy Jade proved me that she is too emotionally stunned to be a mother or to be in a relationship at all.

I may sound harsh right now (especially lacking any context about the exact conversation between Rose and Jade) but any choices she would have made with Jane, Kanaya or a 3th option the only plausible solution to not be abused by the public is to literary isolate Yiffy.

Like, tell me how would you have done this, to hide the dog part of Yiffy without being in some way abusive to her even without meaning too.

Jane, while showing out right physical abuse towards Yiffy after her deal with Jade is done when she saw Tavvy supposedly being kidnapped by the rebellion, I wouldn't be surprised if she showed hostility towards her by being verbally abusive so no one will figure it out, or she did something in the system so Yiffy will be discriminated against without anyone reporting anything.

Kanaya while she would have accepted the surrogacy and help in Yiffy being kept out of the spotlight (stated in beyond canon), I'll give Jade the word her because without Jane control, Yiffy would have been discovered way sooner then she already was in the comic (tho that was do to Jane being selfish). So yeah she would have suffered most likely like Jade did.

And if we take into consideration Dave, Jake, Karkat or any other possibility available, it will either break Jade image of the perfect life, would not be as efficient or she would have run into the problem of association with the enemy of your "friend".

And the best case solution for Yiffy is to isolate her from the world which is Jade NIGHTMARE!!!

And all circles back to Jade making a selfish decision, this one I'll not argue, what she did was selfish having a child with your married friend/sister of your husband which by the way express NOT wanting to have any children out of fear of fucking them up (which what she did), destroying not one, not two, four fucking relationship!!!

Dave and Karkat situationship (by trying to force a polycule and not working)

Rose and Kanaya marriage (by having a baby with Rose and not consulting Kanaya about how she is FEELING)

Her and Dave marriage (having a luck luster marriage and possibly cheating on Dave with Rose and Having a kid to represent their marriage which as I mentioned he didn't want to)

And what I can possibly speculate as straining her relationship with her daughter by being overly clingy and try to relay all her emotional support on her.

Truly makes me bang my head on the wall and yell. THATS WAY DAVE SAID HE DIDN'T WANT CHILDREN, THAT'S WHY EVERYONE WHO DOESN'T WANT CHILDREN SAY THEY DON'T, KIDS ARE NOT OBJECT TO MAKE US HAPPY THEY ARE PEOPLE WHO WILL GROW IN TO ADULTS.

Oh, god I feel like I yap to much and I said nothing, but in short candy Jade was in no way prepared to have a kid, she seek out superficial scopes thinking this will do it, without self reflecting, she wasn't able to heal from her trauma and staying longer on earth C made her worst (which is my personal believe she should have take a long vacation in space exploring and keeping herself out of touch with any civilization (which it may look like a contradiction but her saying people treat her less like a person and more like a celebrity dog showed she was degraded and maybe not so secure about her identity as an half dog girl) and in some way may have destroyed any changes of Yiffy actually having a good childhood (because let's be honest no child will be well if they were kept as a secret)
