Let's talk about Jihyun's adolescence.
He was completely different person. He was somewhat like Jumin: pedantic, prident, cold-blooded. And at the same time V was just an insecure child. All he wanted to archive was not his desire. It was his father's. Like his mother said, his soul wanted to be an artist. And the confines set by his father and himself didn't allow the soul to become free.
Jihyun's mother tried to help his son to blossom. That's why she sent his works to the competition. But she didn't consider that Jihyun's fear was stronger than she had thought. And when he'd found out about it, he tore his painting yelled at her. You can ask: "Why didn't V just calmly talk to his mom about it?" But you forget. He's a teenager. He was at an awkward age, puberty. Plus his continuous anxiety. That's like pouring gasoline on a fire. Jihyun's breakdown was inevitable.
But then he really regretted it. Especially when his mother died. As they say, we never know the value of water till the well is dry. To some extent, Jihyun blamed himself for her death. And it became his childhood trauma. Especially when he read her diaries.
But after that Jihyun didn't close himself even more. No. He did a bold act. He decided to go against his father. He had the courage to go beyond what was allowed. And despite other people opinion's V became an photographer. This is a really big step for him.
I really admire him for his courage. The fact that he overcome fear and uncertainty commands respect. I really love Jihyun.
