Melinda is in fact one of Clara Oswald’s echoes and despite history was rewritten so it never happened, the Elders managed to isolate one such echo and make sure she was born as Melinda Prudence Halliwell.   After all, she has a Doctor to save.

One thing that Clara Oswald hadn’t intended to do when she cast herself into millions of pieces across the timeline is that it was millions of lifetimes, of alternate timelines.    She doesn’t always have the same quirks, she doesn’t always save the Doctor.    Sometimes she saves other people instead, and that’s why Melinda Halliwell was born of her very being.

Main Verse.    Melinda is a Baker and vanquisher of evil.   She claims she lives a simple life but it is far from that.

When everyone reaches their 18th birthdays, they take on the form of animal that represents them the best.     What form Melinda took on was a Wolf.

“A normal person usually runs away from explosions.” Melinda commented.   She also left out sane but apparently she was neither of those things because her first concern was the other person running at it.   Of course Melinda had to chase after them to make sure they didn’t do something like say die.

Melinda knew that the world was filled with some strange things.   Smallville had a vortex of weird because of meteorites and her sister Aiden was right there now.   And some how Melinda had decided to go to a bigger place of weirdness and dangers, London.   Daleks and Cybermen.   Little cubes that had fallen from the sky years ago when she was a baby.   Yet that hadn’t deterred her from seeing the wonders of London and she wanted to visit some very old castles.    Because San Francisco didn’t have that!   After all, Dr. Halliwell’s assistant wasn’t going to let her back in her clinic to work until she got proper rest.

After getting up this morning from the hotel she was staying and had gone downstairs after changing to a coffee shop for a proper coffee.   She needed it badly however she stopped in her tracks when she saw a woman in the exact shop who looked exactly like her.

Before history could be changed once again, the Elders managed to keep hold of one of Clara’s echoes giving her life and a destiny of her own.  However, it doesn’t mean she won’t give her life to save the Doctor someday.   She just has bigger destiny than just that now.

In regards to Doctor Who related fandoms.   I have a verse called “Echoed” in which Melinda is one of Clara’s echos, created to help The Doctor.    While those events in time were rewritten, the Angels of Destiny ensured this last echo still played her part not just to save The Doctor potentially at the cost of her own life but in the big picture as she has a personal destiny to complete.
