“Lemme go,” Niner slurred as he pushed himself away from the Mandalorian. “I can walk fine.” He stumbled onto the road and swayed as he blinked to regain his bearings.
Kriff, that was some strong stuff.
Niner rarely let himself indulge in the pleasantries of alcohol, especially when he couldn’t even trust the very soldiers he served with. The Empire had started to conscript non-clones, people who were less skilled and less precise than a clone solider and it made Niner uneasy. He knew one wrong move could jeopardize him, or worse, could put his family at risk. They were a rag tag group of clone deserters, retired mercenaries, and run away ex-Jedi would had escaped to Mandalore during the chaos of Order 66. They were high on the Empire’s wanted list due to the crucial intelligence they possessed, and run-away, uncontrolled super soldiers are never good news for a corrupt power.
Niner hadn’t even wanted to visit the bar tonight, but the group of rowdy stormtroopers and hired missionaries dragged him along. He had only had one drink.
“Fierfek,” the clone cursed as he fell backwards. “What was in that drink?”
