“Hey, dad? Hey um, I called your assistant, she said you’re actually in Ottawa for a business thing, haha... I was just wondering if we could meet up to talk about some stuff. Um, call me back? Love you.”

“Alright, that’s the guest list done! Good job.” Leaning away from his laptop, Matt pecked Teo’s nose, smiling sweetly at his fiance. “So- flowers. I’m thinking we gotta pick the flowers on our own or papa’s going to fill the place with three thousand different types and everyone will die,” Matt chuckled. “Any ideas?”

Knees tucked tight against his chest, Matt worked up the courage to hit call, fear coursing through him as the phone began to ring. He couldn't help but fear for Teo's safety, for his wellbeing, and secretly, he was most afraid of Teo telling him he was never coming back. But he had to call, or he'd never know. "Please pick up, come on..."

Dude! Heard you got engaged, congrats.

“Teo?” Far from his usual happy attitude when coming home from work, Matt looked troubled, hanging his bag up on the coat rack and dropping down to hug the dogs as they bounded towards him. “Hey, babies... Tee? Uh, can we talk?”
@bxlgrade
Coming home early from work one day, Matt felt a strange sense of sadness spreading through him as he drove home, tears pricking at his eyes by the time he opened the front door. He'd planned on surprising Teo, but the house was empty, a quick text revealing his fiancé was at the grocery store. The little sense of excitement wearing off, Matt sank down into the sofa, bones heavy with a deep sense of grief. One word came to mind, and the tears began to fall; Emily.

For probably the first time in his life, Matt has woken up before Teo. He chooses to use this time wisely; by jumping on his boyfriend and aggressively snuggling him awake. "Teooooooooo!"

I heard you have deep fried grilled cheese down south and I want it.
