How quickly she’d forgotten how easy it was to become overwhelmed in such a place; though, to be sure, the fault lay with her for insisting on ahead so far from the rest. Ceaseless were the thoughts, clouding her judgments and forcing careless actions without having meant to—catching the last of the manikins being dispatched by one such comrade, the summoner couldn’t help the way a frown found its way into her lips.
One hand releasing its grip along the neck of her staff while the other lowered it by her side, she managed to let a sigh fall from her nose and proceeded to hang her head shamefully before the woman. Eventually, she knew her sights would raise to meet a disapproving expression the other was sure to give, but out of genuine concern—far be it from herself to deny such a response; if the situation had been reversed, hers would not have deviated very far from the other.
“I’m sorry, Tifa,” Azure and emerald hues rising shyly amid the apology. “I...should have been more careful.”
And she should have been, reprimanding herself in silence before the brunette even had a chance to respond. Everyone had a reason for being here—a reason to fight so fiercely…had something or someone to protect against the powers that be. None had been above one warrior or the other, and so many of them had thoughts plaguing their minds just as she had.
She just...needed to be more mindful and aware of her surroundings.
“They’re starting to gather a lot quicker than I’d realized,” Noting the way the manikins had begun gathering in droves and no longer in pairs like they once had; the sign had been a foreboding one, and one that demanded heeding. “For what it’s worth...thank you. I doubt I would have been able to handle them all by myself.”
