Getting dragged off the pavement and strapped to a board, whisked off to the hospital was the last thing Henry had ever expected. In fact, before he was even picked up off the pavement he had blacked out from blood loss. It had been a long while since he had actually been to a hospital... for anything other than court-demanded rehab anyway... or to get pharmaceuticals from corrupted nurses and tired orderlies to feed his drug habit.
When his eyelids fluttered open to see the bright white lights, though, the heavy stench of Clorox and Purel making him feel sick to his stomach, he jolted up in his spot. What the hell happened? A dizzied gaze managed to focus on the man at his bedside and he frowned a little as he spoke. Richard. Yes, he remembered him. Very... vividly...
“ Y... yeah, I remember, “ he muttered, reaching up to rub at his eyes and feeling the gentle tug of the IV in his hand as he did so. “ How could I forget, “ he chuckled teasingly. Pausing, he looked down at the back of his hand, at the IV stuck there. A soft frown met his features. No, no, no... He didn’t wanna be here, he felt trapped in here... Like he was suffocating, like the walls were closing in an-- Wait, were those painkillers he was hooked up to? Maybe this wasn’t such a terrible thing after all...
“ Hey, ‘s there any way to turn that up, “ he hummed, lightly gesturing toward the machine pumping him with drugs.
