Despite his own tears dissipating with his own body heat before they even reach his chin, Jeice still finds himself wiping his eyes with the sleeves of his sweater, hiccuping with his sobs as he finds himself avoiding eye contact. Deep down, he knew Frieza would have survived regardless, but the pit of anxiety in his stomach had refused to settle. So much death had been in his life-- including his own untimely demise. It was only by chance he had been brought back at all-- a gift from the Gods themselves. He had no chances to waste-- neither him nor the others could screw this up, by death or other means. Any close call was much too close for the former mercenary’s liking.
-- And without his leaders, Jeice would be entirely lost.
He is practically inconsolable, pathetic by nature-- the cowardice within him refusing to dissolve even after all he’d been through, if anything, he had feared to make the same mistakes again, to experience the pain that he had allowed himself to become familiar with, it had been a sickening kind of agony, and if anything Jeice had just wished to live a peaceful life-- but he was here for a reason. It was the Supreme Kai’s and Beerus’ wills themselves that he was here, to train for battle, to defend their universe thus if the Zenos believed there to be another game in order, they needed to win.
He had grown closer to all of them he had ever believed he could, fearful for their lives and the consequences of failure. But even then, emotional bonds had extended further than that-- in ways that Jeice could barely bring himself to comprehend, something he hadn’t felt since the earlier days of his squadrons, since the beginning of his time in the Ginyu force.
He leans into Frieza’s bloodied palm, unable to manage to keep himself together. Jeice wasn’t too badly injured himself, just a few bruises here and there, some cuts, but none too deep for them to be concerning, the worst had come to when he had been pinned down, but even that had scarcely the lasting effect.
❛ Y-- yeah, ❜ he barely manages to choke out through his sobs. ❛ But... We need you, Frieza, ❜ I need you. What was never said but always implied. Growing close to Frieza had been hard, unintentional, but needed. Their company beside each other had been strangely enjoyed, all differences and nuisances somehow set aside, rarely had any of Jeice’s... eccentric behavior gotten on the emperor’s nerves, and concern had often been extended for one another.
❛ I dunno... What we’d do. ❜
