Short Bio: All her life, Ember has known that she was different. Bad things happen when she gets angry or upset. People get hurt. Once, someone died. At sixteen, she met Orion, a man with amazing abilities who told her that she was gifted. He became her mentor for sometime, until it became clear that her power was too much even for him, so he sent her to Covington Academy, hoping that they would be able to help her gain control before someone else gets hurt.

She’s basically able to make you see anything she wants you to. She can make your wildest dream come true, or can bring your worst nightmare to life.  Short Bio: Erica is the first of her family to have superpowers. At a young age, her abilities consumed her, causing her to go into epileptic seizures, due to the lack of control over her powers. She also had an imaginary friend, which was not weird at her age, but when her family started seeing the girl Erica described to them, they got worried and looked deeper into it, finding out their daughter was special.

A short description of the ability: The ability to move instantaneously from one location to another without physically occupying the space in between. Short Bio: As as child, Kenzi struggled to maintain control of her ability, often finding herself teleporting into walls or other odd places that left her stuck and feeling stupid. With the help of her telepathic twin brother, she was able to begin honing her ability, able to teleport longer and longer distances without any hiccups. Tragically, her brother was killed in a car accident when the twins were seventeen, leaving Kenzi alone and scared. In her grief, she deconstructed completely and spent months floating between time and space. When she was finally able to come back to herself, she ran to the only place that she knew could help her: Covington Academy.

Scott McCall lived the first nine years of his life believing that he would never know what the world - or anything in it - looked like. Born to a loving mom and dad, the young blind boy was surrounded by support and encouragement right up until things started going wrong.

Shortly after his ninth birthday, he caught his first glimpse of the world, but he couldn’t quite figure out what was wrong with how he was seeing things. They were flipped around, like looking in a mirror, and he was staring at his own reflection – only for his vision to turn without moving his head or looking away. Part of him felt like he was dreaming some wild, fantastic dream that gave him a chance to know what he’d been missing.

When he slept, he had a way of piecing together the things he’d felt under his fingertips, building them into a visual thing that he could only see within his mind, but that was nothing like what had happened in those few moments. It was more like wearing virtual reality equipment; seeing through someone else’s eyes. Although, when he tried to explain it to his parents, they didn’t know what to make of it.

They wanted, so desperately, to believe that their child had finally gained his sight, but what he described hadn’t made any sense at all to them. Like any concerned parental figures, they took him to a doctor, and then a psychiatrist as his stories continued to get stranger. No longer was he simply seeing random scenes and objects, but also hearing, tasting, smelling and feeling what he shouldn’t have been as well. To help him cope while they continued to look for an explanation, he was put on antipsychotic medications.

When all of their searching turned up the same lack of answers, and the medication proved to do nothing to stop the wild stories, there was one person that volunteered to take the young boy under his wing and teach him how to cope with these ‘hallucinations,’ as they’d so delicately been titled. He told the McCall family that he worked with a special medical program that specialized in caring for children with certain needs that modern medicine couldn’t quite handle; which seemed to do the trick, because Scott was sent to live in the hospital that had a room waiting for him.

His medication had been changed, increased, decreased and changed again; followed a vicious cycle that left him feeling sick and tired and completely unmotivated to do anything at all. They’d put him through countless therapy sessions and brought in more specialists than he would have ever seen if given the choice. It took years until he started figuring things out for himself. Putting the pieces together gave him a chance to test his abilities in the real world. He learned to cover his eyes with sunglasses, to carry his cane just in case he needed to shut down and be ‘normal’ again. It wasn’t until he’d run into his brother again, at age twenty two, that he learned of Covington Academy.

Sensory Scrying, as his instructors call it, allows him to connect with people through telepathy. He doesn’t have to touch or even know the person he picks up on the senses of, and at times it still happens at random. Scott gains no control of the other person through his abilities, and the people he senses things through don’t feel anything while he’s using his abilities. After he leaves them, however, they may feel a brief wave of lightheadedness. The only drawback to his ability is that his eyes change color when using someone else’s eyes -- yellow if he doesn’t know them well, and red if the connection between them is a strong one.

Mun name/age: luci / 25 Character name/age: allison argent / 20 Student or Instructor*: student Superpower/ability: pyrokinesis  A short description of the ability: the ability to create and manipulate fire Short Bio: It all started in school when Allison was six years old, another small girl shoving her out of the line in the hallway as anger slowly but surely piled up in the tiny raven-haired girl’s chest until finally she quite literally exploded, unable to control herself or her newfound abilities as several students and a teacher were injured. It was then that she was recruited by the Covington Academy with her father’s approval so she could learn how to control her emotions and abilities. Now, 14 years later, Allison is nearly fully in control of her pyrokinesis but, secretly afraid of herself and what she could do if she lost control, Allison refuses to leave the position of student despite offers to finally become an instructor.

SUPERHEROES AREN’T BORN HEROES;

They need training to hone their abilities, discipline to keep themselves in line, and a moral code that tells them right from wrong. All of these things are difficult when the easier route would be to let their powers consume them, to go rogue and use their powers for selfish or evil purposes.

That’s why the Covington Academy was built about one hundred years ago in Los Angeles, California. The founders, upon discovering their own abilities, were the first to decide to do something about those that were seen as fellow outcasts – some even told to leave their own homes or rejected by their families. To give them a home and a place to learn about what they were without threat of harm, prejudice or execution.

As time went on, however, the founders discovered they would need to do more than house them all and give enough room for playing around with unpredictable abilities. They began teaching themselves, and their students, about control. Taught them to connect with their superhuman traits and strengthen them to a level that could be harnessed and used for good.

However, despite being taught how to be forces for good, not every student leaves the school clinging to what they were taught.
