His mother was always worried about him, and he never knew why. She had always told him it was because the world was dangerous, and she didn’t want him getting hurt. That no matter what, he always had to be wearing his gloves, no matter how hot it got outside. Though of course, once they were in the safety of their home, he was more than to take them off.
Robin was always told that he shouldn’t go anywhere without his mother, that someone could hurt him. He mostly followed that rule, but the local healer seemed a nice enough person. She even lent him a simple wind tome since he was so adamant about learning magic. So, when he had returned from sneaking out to see his friend, it didn’t come much as a surprise to return to his worried mother making sure he was alright. The boy kept his borrowed book close as she inspected him for any sort of injuries.
❝ Momma, I’m fine. I wanted to learn wind magic so I can be like you. The healer is letting me borrow her wind tome. She’s a healer, momma. You don’t have to worry about her hurting me. ❞
