"But when you live long enough, even madness ends."
Evolution | Prologue End
An air of silence fills the room, but as Impmon claps its hands together, your digivices all suddenly begin to glow. What could that be?
The once small Digimon in the arms or at the sides of the people begin to glow as well… And then the glow fades just as soon as it came. However, the Digimon are not the same ones that were there before! What the hell just happened?
“What? Don’t tell me you don’t know that they can digivolve. Humans really are chumps. They spend their whole life evolving and changing, but when it happens right in front of their eyes, they can’t even believe it. Well, whatever! The door is open now, so you might as well explore a little.”
“Make sure you get some sleep, though! I’m waking you losers up bright n’ early for something important tomorrow! Seeya~”
And with that, Impmon disappears out the castle’s front door, just as quickly as he had entered.
Killing each other… He can’t really mean that, right? It seems that no one wants to talk about it, though.
The door is open now. The students guess they should see what he means about the castle, or perhaps explore the outside for now. Maybe that will get their mind off of things?

The Next Step | Prologue End
The past few hours of the club member’s search efforts have proved fruitless, having found more questions to be asked than answers. Many simply chose to forego their search in an effort to spend time with others, their Digimon, or simply to argue. Whatever their case, there was nothing to be found, and many grew weary of searching.
Suddenly, the castle began shaking as though there was an earthquake, causing an abrupt end to their searching and friendly interactions. Not knowing what was going on, the students and their teacher made their way downstairs and toward the door. Before they could even try to open it, however, the door opened by itself. Huh?
A shadowy figure stands in the doorway, looking devilish in features and startling some of the more weak-willed Digimon and students.
“Okay, see, you weren’t supposed to be here so early…” A nasally voice calls out from the shadow.
It steps forward and reveals… Oh. It’s not scary at all. It’s just a little Digimon.
“You all ruined my perfect set-up! You guys were supposed to get here and be all impressed with how scary I was and think, ‘Oh no! There’s no way we could possibly try to escape from this guy!’ But nooo. You had to come barging on in while I was still out collecting everything! What’s the boss gonna think!? Leave it to Impmon to screw everything up!”
...
What…? Is it talking about?
The Digital World | Prologue
When everyone comes to, they find themselves in a huge room, filled with monitors, pillars, and wires scattered across the floor. A few club members try what looks like an exit, but the doors are locked tight
Everyone is uneasy, chattering, but this is broken through by the voice of Yasuda-sensei -- the club advisor -- trying to calm everyone down.
“S-settle down everyone! I’m sure that there’s a good explanation for this… We just need to find it!” She says, and leads everyone to what looks like an elevator.
After everyone has shuffled in, they go upstairs, finding this floor to be filled with rooms, each one already having everyone’s names on it… How creepy… The unmarked room at the end of the hall draws the most attention, so they decide to go search for it.
Once they enter the mysterious room, they find it to be… a playroom? Why would they need that? Suddenly, a bunch of tiny round creatures pops out! Some gasps, some screams of fear, a few whispers of “what are those” are heard before one of the creatures hops over to the group and pipes up for themselves! It can talk?!
“Hello! We’ve been waiting for you!” One of the many tiny black ones pipes up. “I’m Botamon, and we’re Digimon! More specifically, we’re your Digimon!” It says.
Digimon? What are those…? Before anyone can ask, the tiny creatures jump toward their respective partners, and everyone suddenly finds a small device being placed into their hands… How strange…
“I’m not quite sure we can get out now… So I think our best option would be to sit and wait with these… um… digimon… Until we can figure out how to get out of here!” Sensei says, beginning to look around and explore the room.
Well, since you’re all stuck, maybe you should explore this place?

A Mysterious File | Prologue
With those words, a collective feeling of dissonance fell throughout the room, a sharp pang throbbing through everyone’s heads.
What was that? The room falls silent, everyone looking around at each other and completely unsure of what to say or how to continue. Thankfully, having Heath as a club officer serves to speed up the process.
“...Haha! Well, anyway, let’s get started!”
Heath chimes in as though nothing happened, jumping right onto a computer as the club members gather closer. However, what they find when they open the computer is much different from what they expected.
“Ehhh...? What’s this? Who broke our baby?” He asks, pointing at a mysterious file on the computer screen.
Behind it, the computer looks... Well, broken, in that sort of stereotypical way that doesn’t actually happen. Hotaru squints, leaning over the chair, but offers no good advice. She simply shrugs. Thanks, club president.
“Well, maybe we should open it and see what’s on it?” Ren offers.
“That’s not a good idea… What if our computer gets a--”
Before Hotaru can even finish her protest, one of the second years -- a rowdy girl known to the group as Eri Enomoto -- has already pushed her way to the computer and stolen the mouse from Heath. With a quick click, the program is opened.
With it, a sudden burst of light envelops the room. Then, everything goes black.
Junior Game Devs | Prologue
Already months into the school year, Hope’s Peak Academy’s Game Development Club was having quite a bit of trouble getting new members due to most of the students already being in a club or simply not being interested. After many ceaseless days of the club officers badgering everyone to join their club, they ended up with the current 15 club members in addition to the original officers.
Due to their hopes that everyone would get to know each other, coupled with the laziness of the officers, the first week of the club went off without a hitch, the entire time being dedicated to the members bonding and playing games together (though, Hotaru would be lying if she didn’t use the time to plug her games a bit too!). However, the Game Development Club is a game development club, and as such, it was time for games to be developed! When the last member finally managed to make their way in (very like an HPA student to be fashionably late, I suppose) the officers were finally ready to make their announcements.
“I hope that everyone is aware of this, but as the game development club, it’s about time we make a game or two, huh?” Hotaru pipes up after waiting in an awkward silence for another officer to speak. “So, then, I guess let’s get down to business!”
