Interviewer: Is there one of these animated shows that you didn’t have that much actual visual representation of what was going to be on the screen when you first recorded it, that really surprised you once you finally saw it?

Jeremy: Yea, probably Voltron.... I didn’t see any of it until we started doing ADR, and I was blown away. I was like, “Oh my gosh, this show is frigging ridiculously cool.” The blend of the animation style is really cool.

Interviewer: How much of it did you know that you were doing when Voltron started? Was it just the first season and then it went from there?

Jeremy: Uh, that would kind of be spoilers for pickups and stuff... At the very least we did know that--We had a probationary period, actually. So we had a period where we recorded the first three pilot episodes that became one long episode. And we recorded those, and it was like, “Okay, during this period you’re cast, but we could possibly recast you if it’s not working out.” And this actually happens pretty often in animation... There was people replaced. There was probably at least two different people that were Keith before Steven, there was at least two different people that were Shiro before Josh, at least one or two different Alluras. I was the only Lance. But it was kind of stressful, you know. Then finally we had our first official, “Y’all are the cast, we’re not changing” record with Andrea [Romano, the voice director]... And at that point, they told us that we had been picked up for a lot more episodes.
