Looking for a fanfiction where Janine is killed in guardian duty and legally Abe gains custody of rose and he finds out that rose and Lissa are threatened at the school because of victor (but they don’t know that yet) and Abe demands to take rose away from the school to go live with him. Rose doesn’t want to leave Lissa so Abe fights the school and court for custody of Lissa too. He then hires Dimitri to train rose and guard both the girls since the school wouldn't have reason to hire him if Lissa leaves with rose to go live with Abe instead of the girls running away to avoid victor. The girls meet Christian when Tasha brings him on holiday to visit Dimitri, and that’s how Lissa and Christian end up together and then rose and Dimitri slowly build up to their relationship but Abe notices and keeps tabs on it and make awkward dad comments to rose and veiled threatening comments to Dimitri. They go to court one day so Lissa can be acknowledged as an adult royal and rose can do her qualifiers to become a sanctioned guardian and there they meet Adrian, and find out he has spirit like Lissa. I think they figured out what her spirit magic was from Dimitri bringing the girls to his home and introducing them to his grandmothers friends who are a spirit user and shadow kissed guardian. They go back to court knowing what it and how to control it, then teach Adrian about it like in the books. Adrian gets interested in rose but since Abe mazur is with her and it’s known that he is her father the queen forbids Adrian from flirting with rose because she worries Adrian will be taken for ransom or something due to Abe’s shady business and she thinks rose is just luring Adrian into being kidnapped. That was all the detail I can remember.

I vaguely remember reading something like this and then never being able to find it again so if someone could write or find it I would appreciate that! It is also possible I’m mixing up or combining a few different fanfictions but if anyone could find something along these lines it would be very helpful!

In my opinion, one of the most interesting relationships in books and tv shows is between a child and their parent(s), who have made some questionable parenting choices (still within reason) and/or have been distant from the child's life whether by their own choice or not, but would die without a moment's hesitation for them (not because of honor etc., but because they love them, but don't know how to express it).

It's especially delicious when they are a high ranking military officer (or this world's equivalent to it), who serve their country and demand respect etc., but the second someone goes after their child they go absolutely feral.

For clarification, I don't mean abusive parents or anything like that. I mean parents who genuinely love their child(ren), but are struggling with showing affection for one reason or the other. I like seeing them grow as a person and as a parent and apologize for their past mistakes or at least explain the reasoning behind the decisions, and see the child finally feel the love they deserve from their parent(s).

I don't support such relationships in real life. Show your children you love them! But in books and shows, it is gripping to explore.

I'm absolutely losing my fucking mind thinking about the car ride from Court to Palm Springs. You got:

Eddie, who's wound so tight he's about to burst, hell bent to restore his honor as a guardian. Looking at every single thing like it's a threat.

Rose filled with rage and frustration that Jill's safety is out of her hand. And wracked with crushing guilt feeling like she ruined the life of everyone in that car.

Adrian in genuine agony having to be around Rose, desperately trying to disassociate so he doesn't have to comprehend that she's there. Also furious he's being shipped off to Timbuktu.

Jill who was pulled away from everything she's ever known, dealing with the fact people are actively trying to kill her, and recovering from the trauma of her attack. And now also is given a front row ticket to the shit show inside of Adrian's head.

All the while you got Abe, completely unbothered, just vibing trying to get someone to play the license plate game with him.

It was probably a fucking shit show.

favorite va/bloodlines character?

It has to be Rose, Idk if its pretty basic of me to choose her but she had been through so much. And I love the nature of herself. The warrior inside her. I love the title ofdamphir, like, warrior that are born and train to protect morois.

What I do not like its that its implicit. Like what do u mean thats their life? i WANTED TO SEE A REVOLUTION.

But anyways, for not repeting myself I will say that the most cool character is Abe Mazur.
