I just wanted to say that even though I don't have any friends on here it's so amazing seeing people talking about vampire academy and bloodlines. I've never met anybody who cared about these books that are so special to me and have been for years and it really makes me so happy seeing a little community on here posting so much about them. Every single post, goofy and serious, lights my day up - I haven't seen anyone talk about them this much since they tried to crowdfund the frostbite movie 🤐.
Another Vampire Academy Post
Do you have a book series that's so ingrained in who you are, your identity, possibly your DNA, that you cannot separate it and you?
-Cue the groans and eye rolls and "ugh, she's talking about Vampire Academy again" from family and friends 🤣-
It's amazing, discovering something about yourself and watching all the puzzle pieces finally slide together and fit. Took me 13 years to finally pinpoint why I love VA so much, and I literally can't talk about the two things separatly.
I fell hard for the bff friendship between Rose and Lissa. I didn't understand why at the time, why I loved a book that centered friendship and hated all the teen books that involved love triangles and oozed romance. Surely, as a teenager in high school, that's all I'd want to read about, right?
Like I said, it took me 13 years to finally pinpoint why I became so obsessed with this book series (we won't even talk about the guide I made to correct the movie guide and everyone else on the internet that got VA wrong 🤣): #BabyQueer! I'm ace, and on the aro spectrum, but for easiness, I just say aroace. Like, whoa, does my VA obsession make sense now. It was about the only YA paranormal-ish book series out at the time that uplifted friendship from sidekick status (if lucky), to equally (if not more) important as the romantic plots.
Which is about the only priase I can give the movie adaptation as well, for getting Rose and Lissa's friendship pretty close to the book.
Really looking forward to seeing this world again on screen, the small screen this time, and hopefully expanded further than just the first book. I can't stop thinking about all the new things a TV series can bring that movie adaptations can't, and showing what we weren't able to see off page due to the books being written from Rose's PoV. And hopefully it will last for years to come...and fingers crossed, knock on wood, that maybe we'll get to see a Bloodlines adaptation too?????
Side note/question: I saw my library via the Libby app finally has all the VA books on audio (for some reason the middle books were missing before?). I really don't think I can hang with the narrator (I've listened to a sample a few years ago and balked), and I know the narrator changes, but I still don't think I can do it. If you've listened to them, what are your opinions?
Also: with the different narrators for the VA series, and the apparent accent switch in the Bloodlines books, anyone else strongly want all these books to be rerecorded? For continuity sake?
Friday at a glance:
Today the cast are back in Pamplona preparing for nightshoots according to a memo released by OliteInfo on Twitter and Instagram.
We also received quite a bit of content from the cast off the back of Jonetta's birthday starting with:
Richelle Mead's Birthday
Not long after she announced the cast Richelle went MIA from her socials. Nevertheless we must pay homage to the birthday of the woman that created one of the greatest books. Happy birthday Richelle. Your books have changed my life and stuck with me throughout and continue. They've influenced me from a young girl, through my teenage years and continue to teach me things as a young woman. I hope you get to go and try a weird cocktail, eat a mountain of chocolate brownies with frosting and drink all the coffee. We await your return!
The Return of Max
With his return I felt sheer relief. I honestly think when he posted this gem. I honestly think he was just trying to get the #VAFamily in their feelings for the upcoming Red (From the Vault). None the less, welcome back Max and don't even get me started on his coming for Kieron and Andre. The fangirling intensifies.
The Return of our Meme Queen and Savior
Sisi also came back on to social media and graced her meme page, sorry, her official Instagram story, with memes. She's the queen and we bow down to her and her jokes. I made this banner on Instagram for the highlight reels in her honor. I hope she sees it one day and gets to enjoy it
Kieron and his love of deleting his digital footprint
Now yesterday I posted this meme which now feels more relevant than before. (Also Kieron ikykikyk. It's been nearly a week please come back and answer my question pleaseeeeeee 😭)
Now I may or may not have made this because I asked Kieron a question which he answered, realized he'd misread it, deleted that tweet, followed up with another tweet saying he'd misread, deleted that and then ghosted me 😭😂. This proved relevant today (and not totally an angle to receive praise for my meme) because he posted a photo of himself on set wearing the infamous Hat (who edited the photo above, see if you can spot its input) and then once the hat had reposted the photo the proceeded to delete it from his story. *sigh*
Dimitri's stunt double
This man deserves our praise and thanks. He's keeping Kieron safe and making Dimitri into the badass God we expect. And he's funny as proven with the video he posted on his story.
And the Rest
Louisa who is going to play Silver (is she a stake? is she a strigoi? I don't know but she has a pet fox 😍) is returning to set as she caught a flight to Pamplona
Mia is still in a wheelchair. I have no idea of what the little coffee fiend did but she is still injured. I'll be interested to see if they'll incorporate it into her character.
Whatever seems to be getting filmed must be a big few scenes given the Stunt team were on set all day and a now deleted image saying strigoi #6 was up on one of the stunt woman's Instagram stories
That's me signing off for tonight guys, for updates throughout the day follow me on Instagram and Twitter. But I'll try and do one of these summaries everyday.

VAFamily: please share!
Vampire Academy means the world to me and now I’m shooting my shot. I’m asking for a chance to be an assistant in the writer’s room for the new Vampire Academy TV show, but I need your help! Pleas share this video (I’ve also tweeted it on my account@ashleighahaynes, if you’d just like to hit quote rt and tag!) with Julie Plec, Marguerite MacIntyre, and the VA writers room so this writer can have her shot in the room where it happens!
thanks, loves!
Ashleigh
Ugh I can still remember the first time I read the books and watched the movie. When the movie ended I started crying because I knew none other book or movie would make me feel like that. Five years later and about 150 books after, I still haven't found a book that made me feel so many feelings at once, like VA. The characters and the plot is so well written even after five years I still swoon over Rose and Dimitri's relationship...
