anyway i had a good time seeing the backrooms. thought it was pretty fun. i think the final act pivot on the primary source of tension and discomfort was nice and disarming. i REALLY hated the 'meat' scene (positive). i also thought it did a pretty good job wrt threading the needle on 'having a guy in there that chases you', which is something i've always found risks diminishing the 'scary' aspect of backrooms stuff for me.

There's nothing inherently wrong with being a vampire and I'd be all for every character choosing what they prefer, but the problem is that the Oakhurst brood is so toxic. The only vampire having a good time is Scott and that's because he enjoys making everyone else miserable. Even if a vampire wasn't hurting anyone they'd still be in very close proximity to a very very unhealthy situation, so like. Maybe Sausage should wait until they're all free to get turned by someone nicer.

I have considered the idea that Cybertronians can reproduce biologically but since they're so long lived the only way they've avoided overpopulation is by having the most absurdly complex and fucked up method of reproduction imaginable. Like you're spark fertile for one week and forge fertile a different week and you have to wait for those weeks line up in order to actually have a child, plus regular transfluid donations to keep building the frame cause otherwise it'll get dissolved for nutrients, and also if your spark color isn't the same as your partner's then good luck getting a newspark-

Honestly I think we need to do this more often

We need to make things so much more convoluted, hell we know there's different spark types I think there should be a diagram for which spark types are reproductively compatible with each other and which ones aren't (god forbid you're an outlier and that just throws a massive wrench into figuring that out)

Options to consider:

Transfluid nanites are only active for a short period of time after ejaculation, and are relatively delicate compared to other cybertronian components

The forge is especially inhospitable 99% of the time, whether by design or incidentally

Something's unusual about the connection between the spark chamber and forge that leads to most sparklets get reabsorbed before they're ever detected

Heats/ruts are a thing but aren't time based but based on certain environmental conditions getting met (making things REALLY HARD in continuities where Cybertron goes dark)

Medically significant pH difference between valve lubricant and transfluid

All the million billion reasons why infertility issues could develop later on that aren't questioned that much in a society focused on asexual methods of reproduction

Environmental lasting effects of the Great Cataclysm even perhaps

Carrying being an extreme resource drain on the body, with longer carrying cycles and more developed sparklings leading to more issues on the carrier's end
