12. What was your last dream about?

I vaguely recall something this morning about a road trip and puzzles, but I’m not sure. The one before that (the previous day) was a nightmare about long-past-their-sell-by-date granola bars that I did not notice were ancient until after I had eaten one.

16. Favorite movie?

I don’t think I have one? I’m not big on video in general*: it’s overstimulating, there’s too much to pay attention to and it doesn’t patiently wait for you while you process what’s already happened. The bigger a chunk the video comes in, the worse it is.

The weekend The Force Awakens came out, I watched the original-ish** Star Wars movie for the first time, for cultural literacy reasons. I talked Mom--who was watching with me--into breaking it up into two one-hour chunks on separate days. She’s always a little upset when this sort of thing comes up, because ”You used to love movies!” and I’m not as good at them as I used to be. I’m not sure why: maybe I’ve been spoiled by the text-focused Internet.

*Yes, I know this is ironic given that we met by watching Star Trek together.

**I borrowed a VHS from a friend, and it said it was a 20th anniversary edition with updated special effects and some integrated deleted scenes. It’ll have to do.

Are there any nice ref pics of the B5 Rebel Alliance uniform in that awesome book of yours? I've been tempted to make a cosplay outfit of one for some time, but it's really hard to find good reference images.

Do you mean the black Army of Light uniforms, or am I just drawing a blank on any other rebellion that happened?  You’ll have to forgive me, I’m really bad at keeping track of military factions and stuff.  I usually just wait for people to stop shooting and tell me what happened and I guess by their faces whether that’s good or bad, haha.  

If that is what you mean, though, there’s some gorgeous close up photography of Sheridan’s in this forum post.   And to be honest, the book does not cover costumes in as obsessively detailed a manner as I would have wished, so many of those images are better than what the book can provide. 

In addition to two images of Claudia being fitted for her uniform that are a bit dark for looking at details, the book has the concept art and two small pictures of fabric swatches for this uniform:

It also has ridiculously large close ups on the patches on both shoulders , should you want to replicate those.  Though my memories of Gallifrey One indicate that they actually make these, so this may be redundant!  Forgive the scan, these are right next to the spine of the book, of course.

Unless you meant something else, in which case you should tell me, haha.

Okay, you’re gonna laugh, but it was Spock and Christine Chapel. Because she likes him so much, right? And she’s so nice and she’s smart and he should just look for a second and see how awesome she is and then they could fall in love—

I was, like, ten? Eleven? I remember being ridic into Star Trek, and then my folks got me a book called Star Trek Lives! and it was all about the 60s/70s fandom, and they shipped it too!

It was a transformative moment.

(That book is a really fun read, btw.)

A pairing you initially didn’t consider but someone changed your mind

Garak x Dukat and Garak x Ziyal are both pairings that made me go yigg until bmouse was like okay, but, here’s the thing: what if? And then what if this? And then slide an AU in there and how about now? And now there are at least two scenarios where Garak x Dukat and Garak x Ziyal are my endgame, and this both upsets and delights me.

Careful of bmouse. She’ll get you thinking.

I'm glad to hear this too, that's kind of rad!  I sort of thought I'd made it up fifteen years ago, honestly, so this is pretty cool!
