@valecfdragons asked; the egg burns. it shimmers like gold in its flaming nest- composed of dry straws and dead grasses. the perfect kindling. the youngling within glows brightly, their silhouette visible through the shell. their parent lays unmoving beside them, a wing draped over their child. their last attempt to protect before they perished. a long spear protrudes from the parent's back. the fire begins to dye, turning from a bonfire into smoldering embers, into cold ash. and then, the egg cracks.
"Donald, Goofy?!" A sigh escaped Sora's lips as he walked through the new world they'd landed on. It wasn't one any of them were familiar with; the group ending up being separated upon landing. "Where have they gone to? Ah, well. I'll find them." He'd started to walk, examining the area as much as he could in search for his companions.
A light caught his attention, pausing in his steps as the light ended up looking like fire. Summoning his Keyblade just to be sure, he took careful steps and eyed widened when he realised the scene in front of him.
"Oh, no..." Crouching down, gloved hands gently touched the phoenix's head despite knowing there was nothing more to be done. He wondered if heartless had done this, but considering the species, it seemed unlikely. It felt...wrong to leave the parent like that, sighing as he raised the keyblade.
"Heal." Watching the familiar cure spell take hold. It wouldn't return life to the phoenix, but the spear would be removed and the wound closed. It felt right in the moment, noticing the silhouette through the shell. It was just about wondering if the baby was still alive inside the egg and if he should cast a fire spell to help before the fire burned out and the egg cracks.
"Whoa - wait, it's hatching!" What was he supposed to do?! Hands reaching to lift the egg, thankful that it didn't immediately burn his fingers. "Come on, little guy! The world is waiting!" Not that he's entirely sure what to do with the baby if it hatches, but it's exciting!
