As a person who understands how Wendip can work, I can understand that shipping Mabel with Robbie can work in certain conditions; Give them some more years to mature them enough to understand how the ship works better. That's how Wendippers tend to work, aging them up and giving enough time to develop them properly.

So, here's my question: How do you make Mabel × Robbie work? Think of it as a question about character development you gave them.

I feel like they fit each other on the count of being polar opposites. Mabel makes Robbie feel more happy, and it would make him be a better person because of her. While Robbie makes Mabel finally get the love she's been searching for.

I feel like under all of Robbies emo clothes and body spray, he's a sweetheart. Like, he draws anime and does makeup. They make me so unwell ughhhhh/vpos

I feel like they would get together because Mabel is the only person who would show him affection and be patient with him(actually wrote a fanfiction on it)

if those friends abandon you just because of your likes and interests then im afraid those werent real friends at all

it totally sucks when people you thought shared a bond cut you off for something so unimportant, but i assure you, you will find better friends in the future who will be there for you no matter what

I dont think that. That's why I ship them. It's not a large age gap, they're not that toxic(compared to some other ships in the fandom).It's not like they're related or that Robbie is a grown adult or abusive.

And I sure as hell ain't sexualizing these kids

Hell, I can't even imagine drawing these two kissing on the lips for the most part. They're just puppy love. Catching feelings and changing for the better, Robbie finding true happiness and Mabel finally getting the boyfriend she's been dreaming of.
