I'm glad that you feel the same way! Exactly, like you should really have a lot of things in your life that bring you joy. No, I totally get that! I've worked jobs where I dreaded it, but it brought in a paycheck until I found something else. Good guess! I do like both pop and folk. Pop when I'm feeling like I want to dance around my home, and then folk when I'm cleaning or making dinner. What do you usually listen to? Can't go wrong with the classic way to have it!

BACKGROUND: 

Valentina has always been a little princess - at least in her parents’ eyes. The two were originally from NYC before they relocated to Rocky View when Valentina’s mother found out she was pregnant. They had wanted their child to be born away from the hustle and bustle of the city and experience life from a small town.

Growing up, Valentina had everything she ever wanted. Her father was a wealthy businessman and her mother was an event planner. She was their only child and therefore, constantly showered with love, presents, and extremely high expectations. 

From a young age, Valentina pushed herself to go as far as she could, to work harder and harder just to please her parents. And it worked for a while. She was homecoming queen once or twice, prom queen, she was in the top ten of her classes. She was one of the best players on the girls’ soccer team. Everything Valentina put her mind to, she succeeded in. 

As tired as she was, she decided to put her attention and focus on something that would actually matter - nursing school. She knew she had the drive and the intelligence, and so she went for it. She went to school, buckled down, and earned her BSN. Nearly as soon as she passed her boards, she was hired at the local medical facility. 

A few years later, the cracks were beginning to show beneath the surface. Valentina was exhausted. She had spent so much of her life pleasing everyone else that she hadn’t stopped to relax. The Rocky View darling began to party more, hang around ‘less savory’ people. With an emotional outlet in the form of drinking and dating, she found herself a little more relaxed. 

Around the age of thirty, she had met someone that she really enjoyed spending time with. Her heart told her that this man came into her life for a reason, though she was expecting them to get married. Little did she know, she’d soon become pregnant with their son, Leo. The relationship fizzled out shortly after he was born, but she still cares deeply about his father. 

Adjusting to life as a single mother has been tough for Valentina, but she knows that her parents and community supports her. The only place she came go is up from there.
