Teyo is so put together. He’s a quick thinker in emergencies and good at planning for the long term, too.

But literally the minute Valentin is anywhere near him, they’re both teenagers again, and he’s ready to rip the coyote’s throat out with no thoughts to consequence. Valentin makes him feral. It’s a dangerous weak spot, but it seems to be one of the only ones he can’t shake.

Teyo rewards loyalty incredibly well. He takes good care of his people in every way that he can manage.

Because of that, he handles betrayal viciously and violently. There are horror stories of what happens to those who've betrayed him, but there are also stories of his generosity and of how much he cares. It's a very fine line to walk.

Valentin’s fc tag translates to, “a coyote among wolves,” because he’s quite literally a werecoyote who grew up among werewolves.

Teyo’s fc tag translates to the reverse, “a wolf among coyotes,” because in Mexico, coyote is a slang term for someone who smuggles people across the US/Mexico border and Teyo is a werewolf in that business.

Azazel plays the long game better than any other muse I have? Teyo comes a close second but the difference between the two is that Teyo is willing to lose. He’ll always choose survival and if he needed to let the whole business collapse in order to keep himself alive, he’d do it. He’d start over from scratch.

But Azazel plays to win. He’s patient and good at making moves decades in advance. It’s why he’s survived so long and what makes him so dangerous. It’s exactly why he kept Sage so close.

The Healer

Ximen “Doc” Ishmael Jiminez Fuentes

Ximen is a curandero, the kind with real magic. He's not quite a witch and not quite not and he's perfectly fine with that.

He was born in Zacatecas, Zacatecas, Mexico in the late 1800s, to a family line which had produced a curandero or two before him. He was quick to gain a reputation in the city and there are still some families today who recognize him.

Thanks to his immortality, he's moved around quite a bit over the years. He's lived all over Mexico, Latin America, and in various parts of the southern US. While living in Louisiana a few decades ago, he befriended a vampire. In Los Angeles, he knew a witch, married to a hunter, and the son they produced. And in Mexico City, he met Teyo Eloy Reyes. He doesn't know what kind of trouble the wolf gets up to and he doesn't ask. It's not that it doesn't matter to Ximen. It does, to some extent. But he likes using his talent to help people and he can't send anyone away, even when Reyes is the one who suggested they come to him. The wolf would consider him part of the pack, though the curandero might not agree with that.

Ximen actually has gone through med school at this point in his life. He's living in New Orleans and working as a legitimate doctor. He's kind and good with his patients and not many would guess at the number of strange connections he has, even in a city full of strangeness.

Teyo doesn’t give a single shit about money and actually doesn’t keep an excessive amount of it for himself. Frankie’s casino donates a surprising amount to charitable causes to help with its reputation and for tax related-reasons and the majority of the money made from his other endeavors goes back to the people who work for him. The only thing Teyo cares about is power and he knows how easy it is to buy loyalty, so he tends to keep his employees well paid, even at his own expense.

A number of organizations have tried infiltrating Teyo’s operation, but no double agent has ever succeeded, thanks to Frankie. The SIA considered sending someone to try, but Jackie warned PJ that it would fail.
