Yugi smiled as he read the letter. He had expected to hear from Itachi sooner rather than later, he knew his husband. And if he was honest...He had been looking forward to it. The moment Itachi left, it felt like there was a hole but he knew it was temporary, it always was. And the letters like this reminded him of when they first started talking regularly, all that time ago after Itachi had rescued him while on a mission much like this. Scooping up their youngest, he padded over to his desk with pen and paper in hand and sat down to write back.

"My beloved,

We're all doing just fine. The kids have taken to 'helping' me in the garden. I'm hoping by the time you get back we'll have some healthy vegetables well under way.

You do sound like a worrying mess, but you're my worrying mess. Tell them I appreciate them telling you to write, I always loved getting your letters back when we first met. I think I still have every single one stored away, you know.

Please stay warm, and hopefully you'll be back before either of us know it to spend the rest of spring and summer. Then we can plan family picnic days, and maybe beach days.
