valeyard wip for a colour palette request made on discord
Just wanted to let you all know, i've not forgotten about Servator!! I know it's been forever since I updated, but there's still a few more chapters to come :)
Will I ever let go of my Valeyard!13 dreams? Nope, no chance
I can just say, it was a very boring maths lecture
I have only JUST discovered that valeyard isn't pronounced "vayel - yard".

The plan was simple, especially considering the intricacies of the Master’s usual plans. She would go steal whatever it was that she was after (the Master was also so painfully vague about that kind of stuff) while you attached a small device near the center of the ship she’d parked you on, guided by the map she’d sonic-ed onto your phone. When you’d asked her why the flashdrive sized bit of technology was even needed, she’d simply given you a wink and dashed off in the other direction, giving you a shout over her shoulder that might’ve been about ‘fun.’ Sounded like her, to be fair.
“Alright,” you muttered to yourself, eyes glued to the screen of your phone, “one more turn and then..” Your voice trailed off as you rounded a corner, finding only one door at the end of the hallway. “Bingo.”
You picked up the pace of your methodic walk, half jogging so that you could get back to the TARDIS as soon as possible, not excited to spend more time than necessary away from the Timelord you’d taken to travelling with all that time ago. At first, the Master had been so prickly, if not outright cruel, but it’d fast become clear that that was just her defense, keeping people, even those she was close to, at arm's length. Eventually, though, she’d opened up to you, began trusting you, and you’d been invited to become a full time resident on board her ship, an offer which you’d snatched up before the question was even fully out of her mouth.
Opening the door, pleased at the lack of a lock, you opted to just stick the thing on the wall nearest to you. You knew that the Master might be displeased, wanting a more discrete spot, but if this was what you thought it was, it wouldn’t matter in a few minutes anyways.
“Y/N.” Your voice, spoken in a relieved and reverent tone came from behind you, accompanied by the feeling of arms wrapping themselves around your waist, nearly painfully tight and possessive. You stilled completely, recognizing the voice but not the tone. “I found you, finally. Took me awhile this time around, but don’t worry, I don’t plan on letting you go now that I’ve found you.”
“Who are you?” You spoke out through gritted teeth, still unmoving.
Quickly, you were spun around, finding yourself face-to-face with the Master… but not. Her face was the same, all soft and sharp, hazel eyes that you’d lost yourself in more times than one, but it wasn’t her. The hair was the most obvious giveaway, but the closer you looked, the more it was so obvious that the stranger in front of you was just that. A stranger.
“I’m what your life has been leading to, Y/N, and I’m here to take you home. I know I’ve messed up a few times in the past with you, but third times the charm, right? This time, I’ve just gotta make you immortal right away, that way you can’t die like the last two, what a headache that was. I won’t make the same mistake another time, I promise. But I’ve found you, and I think it’s time to get going for us, before this dimension collapses in on itself.”
As she began furiously typing in coordinates on the vortex manipulator you’d only just noticed strapped around her wrist, you struggled to get away, to escape her steadfast grip that still held you in place, though it seemed to grow tighter, more irritated, the more you tried to wiggle away. “I’m not going anywhere with you! And I’m certainly not leaving this dimension!”
You watched as she paused typing, face stilling, becoming angry. “Yes, you are.” Through your shirt, her nails dug into you, and you found yourself involuntarily leaning into her support. “I’d like to do this the easy way, but we don’t need to, should you choose not to cooperate.”
One second, her hands were still wrapped around you, sharp and hot, and the next, your would-be kidnapper was on the floor, a mildly surprised look on her face.
“I have to agree with my pet, and besides, it’s not polite to touch things that don’t belong to you.” The Master, here and angry, face neutral, but you knew that that expression often led to the worst outcomes to whoever was on the receiving end. She pulled you over, hand moving to hold you gently against her. “Perhaps you should run before I decide you don’t even deserve to look.”
What you expected was for the woman to be reduced to an apologetic mess, at seeing the woman who they’d dare to provoke, or at least a bit of nervousness. What you hadn’t expected was a lazy smile to creep up her lips, a light laugh accompanying it. “The Master, I presume?” She turned her attention towards you, “it seems no matter which dimension you’re in, you’re always drawn to this face. First it was me, then I grabbed you from the Doctor, and now the Master. Bit odd, isn’t it?”
The Master’s hand moved to her sword quicker than your eyes could follow. “And what should I call you?”
The brunette's fascinated eyes slid off of you and over to the Master, regarding her as though she were a nuisance more than anything. “The Valeyard.”
Although the answer came in a dry voice, it seemed to ignite something within her. You heard her breath hitch and felt her pull you closer, aware that her mind was suddenly moving at a mile a minute, eyes growing wider and wider by the moment. “You can’t be.”
“I am, and where I’m from, I’ve already taken care of you, so unless you want the same fate to befall you, I suggest you give me what I’ve come to retrieve.” The Valeyard moved off the floor and approached the Master with a snarl, poking her finger into the blonde's chest with such force that the two of you stumbled back.
“No,” the Master recovered from whatever had overcome her, using her slight height advantage to look down at the Valeyard. “I don’t think I will.”
The Valeyard smiled up at her, at the challenge, her grin all teeth and no real emotion, shiny and flashing and flat. “So be it.” In a flurry of motion, you found yourself paralyzed, and apparently the Master was right there with you, collapsing onto the ground while the Valeyard caught you in her unrelenting grip, already back to her fast typing now that she had you again. “Venusian aikido. No matter where we are, I can always count on you to forget that a fight is always half defense. Ah, there we are, are you ready to go home?”
You wished you could shake your head, could move at all and escape. “Let me go,” you demanded, already knowing she’d deny your request.
“No can do, love,” she tutted. “Now, what am I forgetting?” Her hand moved through the air, searching for something before they landed on the device the Master had you place earlier, coming down on it with an audible slap and a wicked grin. “Perfect. Best of luck to you, Master.”
“No! Y/N! I promi-”
The Master was cut off by the vortex manipulator jumping into action and flashing you away, back to where the Valeyard had come from, a TARDIS console room by the looks of it.
She set you down gently on a couch only a few feet from the centerboard, turning around to grab something quickly before she made her way back over to you, in her hands, a syringe that she lightly tapped, filled with something that shined like the sun, golden and hot and angry. Bending down to your still paralyzed form, she pulled the collar of your shirt down, giving her access to place the needle just above where your heart would be.
“Please,” you whimpered out, powerless to do anything else.
“Sorry, my love, but this will only hurt a bit, and it’ll be finished quicker than you know.” She stabbed it into you, injecting whatever it was into your bloodstream, your heart, and you screamed. She’d lied. The Valeyard gently moved your head into her lap, shushing you as she brushed your hair away from your face, already sticky with the tears that had escaped your eyes, as she reassured you once more. “It’ll all be over soon.”
