I did a few faces from that one art meme I've seen around. I'll do the rest at a later date. Used a No. 2 pencil, a pen, and a couple colored pencils.
I did a sketch of Guts's Golden Age sword. The grip is off-center but otherwise it looks alright. I just used pencil this time.
I drew Ahsoka Tano, in an odd and accidental fusion of her Clone Wars and Rebels appearances.
I was going for how she looked in The Clone Wars - a young teenager - but her face ended up looking too old. But when I realized this, I had already started her headress/headband thingy, and just didn’t really feel like starting over - so I just kinda rolled with it. I drew her lekku and montrals as they appeared in Rebels, as an adult, and finished the Clone Wars era headpiece.
I drew the entire thing in FireAlpaca.
I opened up FireAlpaca and drew a falchion in it because IDK anymore.
Also how do I keep things from looking so fucking flat? Like; how would I make this, or any type of metal object, be it sword, armor, or spaceship - how would I make it look, well, metallic? How do I make metal look like metal? Or how do I make hair look like hair, skin like skin - how do I make things look like what they are instead of just flat colors?
I drew another hand - just one this time, with a ring. A black ring on the middle finger is an asexual symbol. I didn't really know what else to draw. Might be why it looks kinda sloppy. :/ Also, do ya think I'm doing the right thing? Just drawing random crap? Should I be more focused on one thing for awhile, or do whatever comes to mind? Sometimes, I feel unfocused, or like I don't really have an art style. I'm mostly interested in drawing fantasy/sci-fi stuff, so should I focus exclusively on drawing things within those genres? But even then, that's still a lot of ground to cover. Should I focus mainly on just people first? And even then, should I focus mainly on individual parts before practicing an entire person, or dive straight into whole people? There's just...a lot more to this art thing than I thought. It can be real frustrating, but it's also been fun. I just don't feel like I have any direction, or an art style. Does one just sort of "develop" an art style, or do they have to aim for one? If it's the latter, how is it gained? There's still so much I don't know/understand. If anyone has answers, please, I'd love to hear them.
