really enjoying valkyrie elysium during my new found mild sickness induced free time. good mid tier budget game. feels like a half forgotten ps2 action rpg in all the right ways.

normally that fact alone would be something i enjoyed from afar but learning that the protagonist is a combat doll tipped the scales into 'oh its on sale huh ok fuck it lets give it a shot' territory

Valkyrie Elysium, to me, is the perfect example of how a game can be a 5/10 but still be a pretty enjoyable game. I went into with low expectations and ended up liking the gameplay enough to finish the game multiple times. I feel like people really need to play more mid-budget video games to truly see how much work it takes to make a video game, because even mid-tier games require a lot of work to make an actual working game lol.
