LA VALPOLICELLA IN VESTE AUTUNNALE - AUTUMN IN VALPOLICELLA (eng below)
Alle pendici dei Monti Lessini in #Veneto si distende la bellissima Valle dei Progni.
In dialetto veneto i progni sono i torrenti, e il nome è ben meritato dal vasto reticolo di corsi d' acqua, salti e cascatelle che caratterizza la zona e mi circonda mentre disegno un pezzettino del bosco in veste d' #Autunno.
Salendo lungo la valle son visibili sulle colline le ferite aperte dalle cave di marmo rosso, il rinomato "rosso veronese" di cui è costituita molta dell'architettura locale.
Se il bosco custodisce meraviglie, dei tanti mulini che caratterizzavano la zona pochi sono ancora in piedi o avvicinabili.
Poco importa per il torrente che prosegue la sua corsa…

On the slopes of the Lessini mountains in #Veneto lies the beautiful "Valle dei Progni".
In the local dialect, the "progni" are the streams, and the name is well deserved by the vast network of waterways and little waterfalls that is in the area and surrounds me while I draw a small piece of the forest in his #autumn guise.
Climbing up the valley, you can see on the hills the wounds opened by the quarries of red marble, the renowned "rosso veronese" that makes up much of the local architecture.
While the forest holds wonders, few of the many mills that once characterized the area are still standing or approachable.
It matters little to the stream that continues its course…
