Valorant Episode 8: Map Pool Rotation

Earlier today on 2nd January 2024, Valorant officially revealed the seven map pool for the upcoming season.

Ascent

Bind

Split

Haven is the map that has witnessed its departure from the current map pool. The first three-site map to feature in Valorant has been replaced by Icebox, which was pulled out of active map rotation in April 2023 and will be making a comeback after nine months.

However, the map will not be the same undergoing some changes in its time away from the server.

Some details I noticed in Fade Agent Trailer as a native Turkish person

Is this a Valorant blog normally? Nope. I’ll just point some stuff about background noises as we see fears of agents during the trailer

At that moment, when we see Cypher struggling in somewhere like an interrogation room, I can clearly hear Fade saying “Suçlu” that means “Guilty” in Turkish. As we know from voicelines etc, Cypher had a family once and he lost them. So I’m curious, does Cypher blames himself for what happened to Nora? Is this feeling just about a regret of not being able protect his most precious ones or did Cypher do something that caused the loss in some way? 

Another translation, when we see Breach in a probably prison cell, Fade is whispering “Kaçma.”, means “Don’t run”. So we already knew that Breach had some crimes in his past before he joined Valorant but actually, I really cannot make up any headcanons from this. It didn’t feel anything new so if you can add something with this translation, please do so. 

Still, the most interesting one for me is that shot, where we see KAY/O with dead/injured Brimstone in his arms. 

Fade is saying “Yüz karası” which can be roughly translated as “Disappointment” but has a much harder and humiliating meaning than just disappointment in the way we use it. I read a headcanon somewhere that thinks KAY/O was somehow a robotified version of a fallen comrade of Brimstone, because of the military necklace that KAY/O has (i’ll add the link if i can find it again) so I’m just curious if KAY/O really is a complete robot made by Killjoy or does he have a more human backstory, especially with Brim?

Cost, contents, and more about the Valorant Lunar New Year skins

In 2024, the Year of the Dragon, Riot Games plans to offer Premium tier skins with a Dragon theme. Online leakers have presented images of the upcoming items, which appear to feature a ruby color scheme with striking gold-plated accents.

The leaked contents of the Lunar Celebration bundle include the following in-game cosmetics:

Vandal skin

Melee skin

Ghost skin

Animated gun buddy

Since this bundle is rumored to be in the Premium tier, one can expect the pricing for the entire bundle to be approximately 5,100 VP. Individual items could cost around 1,775 VP, while the Melee skin is estimated to be valued at about 2,550 VP and the gun buddy at around 475 VP.

Valorant's EP7 Ranked Gunbuddys: Your Trophy for Season 7 Glory!

Valorant's Episode 8 Act 1 starts today, January 9, 2024. Players eager for their Episode 7 Ranked gun buddy will receive it upon logging in after downloading the patch 8.0. Your highest rank in Episode 7 determines the buddy you'll get. Servers will go down for maintenance before the new episode goes live, with different timings based on regions. Once your region's maintenance is complete, expect a wait of around two-to-four hours before diving back into the game. The Episode 7 Ranked buddy will automatically appear in your collection when you start playing Act 1 of Episode 8. To use it, head to the Collections tab and attach it to your preferred gun.

Valorant leaks reveal stormy new finisher in the upcoming Kuronami skin bundle

The Kuronami skin features a unique floating animation, loading bullets without direct contact. It draws comparisons to the Reaver collection due to similar reload animations and cloud-like bullets.

A standout feature is the finishing animation where a bullet creates a cloud around enemies, followed by a thunderstorm. This cloud can be shot and burst, a first in Valorant.

The skin collection offers four color variants: White, Black, Purple, and Blue.

The melee skin, inspired by the "kusarigama," has a contactless equip animation and a spinning propeller inspect animation.

The Kuronami skin collection includes the Melee (Kuronami no Yaiba), Vandal, Sheriff, Spectre, and Marshal. An exclusive livestream event will showcase these skins on Valorant's Twitch channel hosted by Shannon Williams, the voice actor for Jett, on January 8, 2024, at 10 am PT / 7 pm CET / 11:30 pm IST. Patch 8.0, part of Episode 8 Act 1, will introduce this collection on January 9 or January 10, 2024, adjusted for regional release times.

Kingdom Laboratories, a leading dataminer, just shared a post hinting at Valorant's upcoming addition of a new agent called "Smokedancer" in Episode 8 Act 2. Though Riot Games hasn't disclosed all the specifics about Smokedancer's abilities, diligent data miners and leak followers in the game community have managed to unearth certain details about this agent, known for a pink-themed approach.

Agent 25, teased with pink smoke abilities, surfaced via Kingdom Laboratories on the X platform. This leaked info hints at a stylish Agent sporting a captivating pink outfit and hypnotic skills. The leaks link this Agent to a tier 50 player card featuring pink smoke with a butterfly-like shape, yet the symbolism remains unclear. Speculation suggests Agent 25 might be Valorant's next Controller-class addition, following this year's other Agent releases. Riot Games continues to expand Valorant, known for its evolving roster of unique characters and dynamic gameplay.
