this shit is actually depressing. i was on the fence about hating valve after the whole half-life anniversary thing and the steamdeck, but man, fuck valve. i hope gabe gets this sorted. i don't want valve and tf2 to end up like nintendo and star fox (neglected but still copyrighted)

context: team fortress 2 classic, a very popular fanmod of tf2, got sent a DMCA takedown by valve. this is despite the little action valve has taken on tf2's other problems, such as the rampant bots (which, ironically enough, have to be run through an unofficial fanmod, like what tf2c was)
