For @flowers-zombie-rob who wanted to see Fraken-Robbie (AKA Monster AU Robbie) comforting Chase after he’d turn. The doctor told Robbie that Chase had an accident...
I wanted to share my new banner and the title for the Monster AU! I had a lot of fun with this big piece! also it’s one I’ve worked on for multiple days, which is a rarity lol.
Chase can be... very salty when he wants to be.
@immabethehero @skatle-skootle-demon-noodle @taikeero-lecoredier @acuaticamber06 @violet--majesty
I kinda want to see how Chase and Robbie would interact in your Monster AU. I kinda see Chase going full Dadmode for Robbie, and helping him out.
Well their first meeting was when Chase was still human, and suffice to say... he was a little shocked.
Henrik has kept Robbie away from most humans, because his stitches and skin colors give people the idea that he’s not quite human. But Robbie has always been curious so latches onto Chase and asks ALL the questions he can think of.
Chase is kinda startled at first, but ends up trying to answer all he can. His time with Robbie is limited though, due to Chase living elsewhere.... however, after Chase Turns...
Unfortunately, he’s not mentally stable enough to go Dad Mode. It actually ends up with Robbie going to find and ask him questions... only to end up sitting and staying with Chase until he calms down. Robbie is the one to dad Chase here, ironically.
Turned Vamps VS Born Vamps
No one asked about this but I wanted to ramble about the monster AU and how vampires work.
There are two types of vampires, Turned and Born. Both have a similar set of skills: They're faster, stronger, have heightened senses, live a long life span, need to drink blood to remain coherent/strong, can be killed by pure metals, and can hypnotize people into doing what they want. (No bat boys in this one unfortunately.)
However, they differ by how they're made. Turned vampires are humans that were drained by a Born vampire. If a Turned vamp drained a human, they'd just be left with a corpse. Born vamps also tend to give a part fo their power to the vamps they create, allowing them to force the Turned to obey them.
Turned vamps, however, have a better chance of blending into the human world. They are able to disguise themselves easier and, since they were born in the human world, they know how to interact with people better. However, they have more trouble controlling their powers than Born vamps, and can often react violently without meaning to.
Born Vampires are, as the name suggests, born as a vampire. One or more of their bio parents was a vampire, either Turned or Born. Children from Turned vamps don't share the bond their parents do. The Born children take longer to develop than human children, and usually have a longer lifespan.
Draining and Turning
Born Vampires rarely turn others by accident. Even if they're starving, humans have about five gallons of blood, and a vampire will usually gain control about half way. To turn a human, they have to take most of the blood of someone, and give some back. It's not easy to do, and some attempts may fail if you have no idea what you're doing.
A Born vamps control over their Turned can vary, depending on the willpower of the two participants. Some Turned can completely reject their Born Vamp, while others are helpless under a powerful Born. How healthy this bond is depends on the Born and Turned vampires.
Vampire Society
There are a few prejudices brought over from old ways of thinking. Some Born Vampires think they are worth more than Turned, and treat their Turned as slaves. Fortunately, most have abandoned that train of thinking, and don't turn humans unless they consent.
Turned used to hate the Born, but as relations grew more positive, the ones who had been freed accepted their lives, and learned how to be themselves again. They taught their children about what they had to endure. Some Turned were forced to stay with their Born, and still resent them.
In modern times, most vampires tend to become workers in the medical field, where they have easy access to blood. Their senses also help them detect when someone is sick or injured. Those who can't, or don't get into that profession, tend to drink animal blood and/or take a lover who willingly donates. Drinking unwilling human blood is seen as a last resort and highly taboo.
Still.... There are some vampires who don't really know about all this. Maybe they were raised in an orphanage, or turned by a vampire who didn't stick around. Those tend to be a danger to others, as they starve themselves to the point of losing control and attacking the nearest human they see.
Henrik
Henrik is a Born Vampire, his parents being a Turned and Born. They were unfortunately killed, and Henrik inherited their castle. Henrik was always taught that Turned were as valuable as Born, and grew up without much prejudice.
When he decided to become a doctor, he made an oath that he would never cause unnecessary harm. Henrik stuck by that oath for most of his life.... Until he was forced to make a decision between having Chase die, or keeping him alive. Ultimately, he decided Turning Chase was a necessary evil.
Chase
He always knew Henrik was a Vampire... But being one himself was different. He's very worried about how he'll hide it, especially from his wife and kids. Henrik provides him with blood from a blood bag to feed, but the thought of drinking from someone makes him sick.
And I'll end my rambling there. I have more ideas for different parts of the world, and the more may not be very accurate, but it's my take on vampires.
hey, could we read or learn more about M!Chase's struggles with hunger and as Turned vampire? like angst and stuff? please and thank you!
Sorry for getting back to you so late, been busy. But yes, yes you may :3
Chase's first problem is that Henrik can control him. He tries to leave the house, but finds he's physically unable to. He can't disobey an Order from his Born. He feels it's unfair, but Henrik insists it's for his own good, so Chase has no choice but to accept it.
Chase has to take some time to adjust to his new powers, aided by Jackie. He's stronger and faster than he's used to, and that can often lead to accidents where he breaks a door or runs face first into a wall.
However, its the hunger that hits him the hardest. It's not like human hunger, but rather a blood lust, a need to feed that takes over his whole mind.
Henrik, luckily, has a stockpile of blood he keeps on hand. Having Chase there means he needs to nick a few more bags from the blood drive he holds, but it won't cause too much harm. He manages to keep stocks up, and Chase fed.
But one week... He's run out. He figures he has to go get more, only to find no one willing to donate for whatever reason. And he has to leave to go get more elsewhere. Henrik is gone for two weeks.
The first few days were normal. Chase was used to eating once every three or four days, so it's not that bad. By the end of the week, however, he finds himself unfocused. He can hear his friends heartbeats in their chests and he's unable to ignore it.
The beginning of the second week, he's getting irritated. Everything seems to be too much for him, Marvin's breathing, Jackie's laugh. He can hear and feel it all and he's overwhelmed. He catches himself staring at Marvin, staring at his skin and veins and feeling himself losing control.
Marvin is cooking one night and accidentally cuts himself. He and Jackie don't seem to think much of it... Until Chase snaps and attacks the magician. He completely loses himself, his eyes turn dark and feral, and he lunges at Marvin.
Marvin gets bit, but before Chase can feed, Jackie tears him off and restrains him. Marvin flees with Jackie close behind. Chase tries to follow, but even in this state he is unable to leave.
Henrik returns to find Marvin and Jackie living with Jack. They explain the situation, and Henrik tells them not to worry. He'll go fix this himself. It's his own damn fault for leaving Chase hungry anyways.
He re-enters the house, and Chase jumps him. Henrik lets him feed for a moment, before pushing him off and tossing him a blood bag.
Chase is horrified at his actions and apologizes profusely to all of them. This is his first real time experiencing the hunger of a vampire. He can't help but be jealous of Henrik, who was also starving at that time but never lost control. The doctor made it look so easy....
He hopes he's never hungry again.
