Anne Rice being like, ‘I didn’t intend for my novels to be read as gay but I’m ok with it’ is insane like. Wym you didn’t intend for the erotica about two men who shared a life and raised a child together to be read as gay… but it’s chill though and she supported the lgbt community in turn, and like, it’s fine that they read it that way, but it was - apparently, somehow - an accident??? Do cishet people seriously fall victim to the erasure of, “they were the best of friends, and lifelong roommates” SO hard that they don’t notice when they, themselves, are actively writing gay porn??? It’s like that comic about, “whoops, grandma knitted a sweater out of spaghetti” but it’s gay porn???? Hello???
