🧜♀️Siren!Mona - Depicting Mona as a sickly, gothic mermaid would be enough but there are a ton of seafaring sirens from different folklore around the world that fit her incredibly well like the Qallupilluit, Sazae-Oni, Iara etc. I can see Tina being a Selkie too because seals are fat and I am a firm believer in chubby Tina propaganda :3
👻Ghost!Mona - I’m genuinely surprised I haven’t seen this yet since Mona already looks like a ghost, she always reminded me specifically of an Onryō with her long black hair too, said hair, her height and skinny/lanky proportions always made her look like Hachishaku-Sama’s long lost twin too lol.
💀Zombie!Mona - Another obvious one since Mona literally looks like a walking corpse. I picture Zombie!Mona being a Haitian voodoo-styled zombie specially with the Red Man being a Baron Samadi type of figure who brought her to life to do his bidding.
🍄Swamp Hag!Mona - Mona always came off as a creepy swamp lady to me so her being a swamp-dwelling hag or witch with kelp for hair that eats kids and keeps gators for pets would make a lot of sense, a real Jenny Greenteeth kind of figure.
🧚♀️Fae!Mona - There is a fair number of fairies, goblins and fairfolk that would fit Mona incredibly well like the Pukwudgie, Kuri and Bergsrå because of how dangerous, violent and “hideous” they are but Mona herself kinda has the personality of a traditional, folkloric fairy when you think about it, she’s a dangerous and violent person who spells disaster wherever she goes but she has such an air of whimsy about her, she’d be the kind of fairy who sings you songs and bless you with good fortune one minute than burn down your house the next lol.
🧪Plague Doctor!Mona - I fiddled around with this concept in the past, I just LOVE the idea of Mona being some kind of mad doctor or scientist and a Plague Doctor is the most fitting archetype for her considering that historically speaking, most plague doctors were volunteers with no medical licenses so Mona using the black plague as an excuse to practice medical torture on people and get away with it because it’s in the name of science is very in-character for her (also cards on the table, I think seeing Mona in tight-fitting, leather plague doctor garb would be really hot to see 😩)
