Helloooo! I finally finished this WIP I had stored for almost a month now haha thank goodness I’m finally done with it ^^ this piece is a reference to a scene in the first episode of Interview with The Vampire, one of my favorite shows :)
this quote from Lestat in particular resonates with me a lot, and it reminded me of something Amir would say
You sat on your bed, anxiously waiting for him to appear. Tonight, you’d give your everything to the man you loved. Not just your heart, your soul.
Each ticking of the clock felt like an eternity as you sat in the darkness
Finally, the torturous silence came to an end when the telltale gust of wind flew through the open window and materialised into a handsome man with long, ebony hair. His pointed ears peaked through the wavy, dark veil of what could be mistaken for silk. Sharp fangs poked at his plump bottom lip.
“Amir!” You let out a gasp, jumping off the bed. You quickly ran into his arms, hugging him tight. “I was starting to think that you wouldn’t come…”
The homeowner nuzzled their face into Amirs neck, inhaling his intoxicating smell. Vanilla, amber and spices came together on his skin in a beautiful dance of richness and temptation.
Temptation.
That was the best way to describe him. Something so beautiful, yet so forbidden, so shunned. It made you shudder. You wanted him. Badly. Just like you wanted what was about to happen.
Amir gently pried your face from his neck and cradled it in his hand. The other rested on the small of your back. His handsome face was marred with an expression full of pain and longing.
“Azizam…I cannot lie, I considered not coming.”
That made you blink. “But why-?”
“Because I know that I will hurt you tonight. You will be in pain, weakened…because of me…” His eyes were glistening with sadness. Amir’s thumb was gently caressing your cheek. “What you allow me to do tonight will leave scars. I fear that you agree now because you love me, but you will resent me afterwards when the consequences of my actions sink in.” He lowered his gaze to the ground, too ashamed to look you into the eyes.
You could feel your heart constricting in your chest. How could he already feel guilty? You copied his actions and gently cradled his face in your hand. Your flesh was warm and soft on his cold skin.
“Amir. My love. Listen to me and listen to me well. I want you to drink from me. Not because I feel like I owe you or because I’m crazy. I say it, because I love you. I love you and I want to do this for you. With you. I want you to find life in me. So what if I’m left with a little scar on my neck? It’s a price I’m willing to pay.”
The vampire looked back up from the ground and held your gaze. He was searching for insincerity or doubt, but all he found was love, determination and adoration. Amir let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding and nodded. “Let’s move to the bed Joonam.”
You both sat down on the soft sheets, his hand never leaving the small of your back. With a gentle tug Amir pulled you into his lap, an adoring expression on his face. His other hand held onto your waist, the coldness from his skin was seeping through your clothes.
“Let me explain what exactly will happen.” He placed a soft kiss on your neck before he continued. “I will begin by kissing your neck, increasing the blood flow. It also helps me find the best spot on your neck to place the bite. Once you are ready, I will sink my teeth into you. It will be uncomfortable and painful. You will feel as the blood leaves your body. So please. Be honest. Are you still sure you want this?”
You looked over your shoulder and nodded. Surely, you should feel scared. But you weren’t. Not even a little. Even though you were in the arms of an apex predator, the very thing humanity feared since the dawn of time, you felt safe. Protected. Cared for.
Amir took that has his cue. He pulled you closer, his arms hugging you tightly from behind. His cold lips caressed the skin on your neck. Some were butterfly like and chaste, others were accompanied by a cold tongue and downright animalistic. You couldn’t stop the gasps, moans and whimpers escaping your throat. It felt so good. The warmth was pooling into your stomach.
“Beautiful. So incredibly beautiful. My Nafasam. My breath. You give me life. The roses wilt in envy when you walk past them, knowing that they will never match your beauty….”
He was devouring you in his final kiss. You could feel the tips of his teeth teasing your skin, the coldness of his tongue as it lapped at you when suddenly, an overwhelming pain took over your body. The coldest ice shards were pushed into your neck and a strangled sob left your lips.
Amir closed his eyes, still holding you tight. He could feel his undead heart clench at your pain, but he couldn’t stop now. So he continued to hold you soothingly.
A few, torturous moments passed when the sharp pain turned into a thrumming sensation. Your heartbeat began to calm down and you felt that earlier warmth spread inside you again. You felt your muscles relax under Amir’s strong arms. His scent engulfed you like a calming cloud.
Amber, vanilla, spices, him.

In that moment, you were completely his.
The pain returned once again for a short moment when he finally pulled his teeth out. Your head was spinning with a pleasant dizziness and warmth. Amir licked over the marks, stopping the bleeding. He peppered your neck with kisses, holding your limp form close.
“You did wonderful Azizam…so delicious….so good for me…”
He seemed more energetic than earlier. A healthy glow exuded from him. Amir gently picked you up from his lap and placed you on the bed. You limply complied, a relaxed expression on your face. The vampire carefully tugged you in before resting next to you. Back in the safety of his arms, you closed your eyes, feeling the siren song of slumber lull you in.
“Doostetaan daaram, joonam…” I love you, my life/my soul…
As the clock strikes twelve, the wails haunt the halls. The creaking growing closer; the gnawing hunger deeply enthralling your soul. The glint in his eyes look back at you.
Before I start: I just made this AU so a lot of it is mishmashed bullshit I made , if some parts don’t make sense sorry !! Would love questions and discussions
Premise: In this AU Amir is an antique mirror that has basically traveled the world, being transferred from one owner to the next. Many of the times he has seen these owners til their deaths. He’s been bought, inherited, stolen, and cracked over the years.
No longer the pristine mirror he once was, Amir sits at an antique shop gathering dust in a corner. Who would buy a dusty old mirror after all? Years pass by and he gets discounted more and more to the point where he’s considered to be thrown out. Just before he could, the homeowner (mc), an enthusiastic antique collector, buys him at the very last second.
When the dateviators are used it reveals an Amir that is a bit different from the one we’re used to
He’s a bit more disheveled after having moving place to place over the years and gathering dust at the antique store. There are small cracks across his body and his eyes reflect a soul that has lived for hundreds of years

Abilities
Typical vampire stuff: Fangs, increased strength, increased senses (sight is the strongest), sped up healing
Unlike other vampires, he has an immunity to silver because he IS made of silver (as a mirror anyways), I imagine his design is adorned with silver jewelry and accessories which could actually be a sign of power/status (references his kind of princely vibe) to other vampires
He doesn’t have a reflection, but I like to think he has an ability to travel through mirrors similar to how in some vampires can teleport
In his initial state he’s weak and can’t hunt properly on his own, this would probably lead to MC taking care of him for a while (as they’re restoring the mirror as well, this would be the storyline probably)
He can heal faster than regular humans but slower than the average vampire. Will almost always leave a scar.
Shapeshifting:
His main ability is inspired by the reflection aspect of a mirror. He’s can turn into different humans.
He can only shapeshift into people he has seen before. Can he replicate photographs? Sure! But it’d be inaccurate/uncanny. He has to have seen them physically.
He can mimic (or reflect) a person’s basic behavior and voice to a certain extent but for a Good Copy he has to study the persons mannerisms thoroughly, he’s very observant this way
He can also turn into smoke (for smoke and mirrors lmao)
The duration depends on his physical wellbeing. He needs time to prep and make sure his body is in a state where it can handle a full mimicry. More accurate/Longer shapeshifting time = more energy. Afterwards, he’d need to rest plenty (beauty sleep if you will)
Can he turn into animals?
Maybe..? I like to think he turns into a bat because it’s cute but it’s the only animal he’d turn into. He’s mainly a human shapeshifter anyways.

Hunting Style
he’s slow and selective and chooses his targets carefully as to avoid too much damage on himself/expending too much energy
He charms his way in basically through his words and shapeshifting/mimicry if needed
He doesn’t like being messy and tries to make sure it’s discrete.

He’s immortal HOWEVER…
If his original mirror shatters, he doesn’t really die but he loses his link to his “humanity” I suppose and becomes a more “feral” vampire where his mind is fragmented (haha get it) and he becomes more of an animal than a man ,, only seeking out blood
(This is some bullshit I came up with)
The only way he can fully “die” is through a stake at his heart AND shattering the mirror after , this would set his soul free from the mirror
However like in other mirror myths, this would give you bad luck for 13 years
