The Lore of the Vampire Species
in my Vampire DR 🦇༉‧₊˚.

꒰ i. ꒱ The Basics of the World-Building
As you may know, my Vampire DR is integrated with my Wednesday DR, where I got to be a student in Nevermore Academy with the tv show’s characters as my peers. Therefore, the worldbuilding of the DR are loosely based on series’ lore.
Basically, in that reality, racism, colorism, homophobia, and any form of discrimination against women doesn’t exist anymore. However, the Normies (boring humans) still discriminate against the Outcasts (werewolves, vampires, sirens, etc), making this sort of segregation dynamic exist in our world. It’s similar to that plot line in Zootopia where they see the predators as ‘savage creatures’ that could be evil any time with zero warning. And just like in Zootopia, us Outcasts had to just… accept the hatred and fear-mongering because what else can we do? But don’t worry. It’s not that intense. We can still blend in and find our folks everywhere around the world, and not all Normies are dumbasses, especially younger generations.
I also scripted out any constitutionalized / structured religions in this dr. People are either pagan, spiritual, or an atheist. Therefore the hate towards the Outcasts is just based on people being uneducated and dumb instead of their Gods telling them to. With this lore, people can’t use their holy knowledge to ‘kill’ us. They used to burn us, but they can’t do that anymore. There’s law, even if it’s centered on their well being instead of ours.
꒰ ii. ꒱ Vampires as a Sub-Human Race
Vampires know how to thrive. We’re still sticking to that “vampires are rich as fuck” narrative. Half of us love to hoard money, and the other half loves the grind to earn them.
Capitalism exists in my DR but it doesn’t exist the same way in this reality—the lowest class is considered as upper-middle class in this reality lol—and being billionaires is ethically achievable. Don’t ask me how it works, but it works. That being said, vampires love to be CEOs, business owners, etc etc, and somehow still managed to keep their ‘mysterious’ personas. For example, my father is a businessman who would only agree on a business meeting with the company or with a client at night. My mother is a CEO of a famous fashion magazine in France. Ronan’s father owned all of the villas in Long Beach, California. Normies work for them and hate their guts at the same time.
Our richness doesn’t live forever, though… because we don’t. It would make our world imbalanced, wouldn’t it? We’re not immortal like the Normies said we are. Our lifespan is 200 years old. Yes, we looked young until we died. Some looked like they’re forever 21 years old, some looked like they’re forever 45. Based on luck and genes, really. Some said the quality of blood we consume throughout our life affects it.
Ah, blood. I scripted that the general blood would taste like a rich, thick, chocolate sweetened condensed milk with a slight tangy flavor to it. And I don’t have to drink it 24/7. Just one liter of blood every week is enough for me to sustain. I could also eat any other Normies meal hehe.
We don’t hunt for blood anymore either. We have these things called ‘blood servants’. Or we could just like. Buy blood. We still kill Normies once in a while when they cross our boundaries, though… we can't help it. But again, I can’t speak for everyone. It’s different for vampires across the world.
Now, to the next topic.
꒰ iii. ꒱ Vampires and Their Varieties
Vampires have ethnicities! We are rich in culture in every corner of the world.
First example, American Vampires. Their history is tangled with Native American Normies. They’re basically besties. And when colonizers tried to (they didn't succeed in my DR) steal the land of the natives and hurt vampires at the same time, they had each other for protection. American Vampires don't burn under the sun, they have animistic beliefs, and are deeply spiritual when it comes to nature. They’re often bullied because they’re American LOL but I promise the vampires are just jealous because they’re not sensitive to the sun :3 my s/o is one HEHE
Second example, French Vampires. My family and I, The Devaliers, are French Vampires. We prefer calling ourselves succubus (succube) and incubus (incube) because that’s what we are. We’re known for our skills to seduce and destroy, which is… true. However, Normies have this tale where we impregnate random women by transferring semen from random men WHICH IS NOT TRUE!! WHAT DO YOU GUYS EVEN MEAN??????? HELLO???? And in history, we are very grounded with the arts, literature, and culture. During the French Revolution, it was recorded that the vampires were on both sides of the story, making the Normies hate us until this day. But like. Back then Normies wanted us dead too?? So if vampires joined Marie Antoinette’s elite circle for protection, it made sense to me. But, anyway. The French Vampires RANN the fashion industry like the navy. It’s in our blood. Literally.
Third example, Taiwanese Vampires. I know this because I had a situationship from Taiwan PLS Ronan hates him so much. Ok. So. Taiwanese vampires are similar to Chinese vampires, because before these countries are formed, they are clumped into one group by East Asian Normies: Jiangshi (僵屍 or 殭屍). Normies have this tale that Jiangshis hops when they walk. They don’t. They have normal walking legs. They do love to stretch their hands forward when they walk though, they said it’s good for a vampire’s bloodflow. Their eyesight isn't very good, so we might recognize that a vampire is Taiwanese or a Taiwanese is a vampire if they’re wearing contact lenses, thick eyeglasses, or stylish sunglasses. They LOVEEE their hair. It’s usually long and silky. I like to think that Jiangshis are just as cultured and stylish as French Vampires, or even more. They’re just. So hot. We need more Jiangshi dark romance in the media COME ON GUYS.
