FIRST SHIFT TO: KATSEYE DR
HOW DID I SHIFT?
if you dont care to read but you wanna know how i shifted, i used the julia method + i did a guided meditation to relax beforehand.
ok so originally i was going to shift to right after dream academy, but then i decided last minute i actually just wanted to shift to gnarly era. so, when i shifted it was the end of april and i stayed for a little over a month.
that idol shit is not for the WEAK. average day in america you are waking up at 6:30 and the day doesn’t end until 9-11pm. in korea it’s even worse 😭 music shows start filming really early so you get there around midnight, get ready and then perform at your scheduled time which from my experience was anywhere from 3-5 am, then you go do other promotions all day. each week we get like 1 day off and i always just bed rot. overall we are constantly doing something or at least traveling.
performing is one of my favorite things ive ever done in any reality, nothing beats that adrenaline rush tbh. however, it is exhausting and as someone who is an insane perfectionist i literally cannot watch our stages 😭 we have a tradition so far of just watching our first stage for each song and the girls have had to force me every time like i cannotttt. definitely learning to try to be nicer to myself and remember that people genuinely don’t even notice the small mistakes.
being backstage at the korean shows is awkward tbh. obviously there’s a language barrier 99% of the time so its just a lot of smiling and waving and hoping other idols or staff don’t think that you’re weird/rude.
ive shifted to other drs so i would like to say i’ve mastered the art of being.. nonchalant around others but i could not hide how starstruck i was with some of the people i met 😭, dont even get me started on doing the gnarly dance tiktok with yeonjun…. who is… so beyond fine btw DAMN.
it’s been really hard trying to find a balance between being myself and keeping parts of my life private, especially now that so much of it is out there publicly. i mentioned in another post that i’ve done stuff in other drs before, but this one feels completely different, it’s on a whole new level. i’ve always been a private person, and as someone who’s obviously grown up in stan culture, i understand the curiosity. it gets complicated when there’s a mix of normal fans and then others who are just waiting for something to pick apart or use to start drama. trying to exist authentically while knowing that everything you say or do might be misinterpreted on such a mass scale will never not be strange.
we have tiktok filming days and requirements. most you see on the official account are all filmed in one day. the videos then get posted gradually over the next few weeks so it looks like we’re just casually making content and doing trends in our free time. spoiler: we have no free time, we are literally called in do that LMAO. we are also required to post on our instagrams. the socmed we have most control over is weverse lives, we can go live whenever and there’s no quota we have to meet.
watching the reaction + switch up on gnarly from the perspective of being an actual member in the group was crazy. as soon as the girls were told that was going to be our next song we genuinely thought it was over for us. the night before it dropped when i shifted everyone was so nervous. i felt so bad for yoonchae when the song was going through the hate wave she literally came to my room crying one night :( BACK OFF MY LITTLE SISTER FR!!!! i had to give everyone a pep talk like no guys trust me people will warm to it, and look who got to say i told you so 🙏
the overdone jokes in the fandom are really annoying but i will say hearing the yes! in the fanchant for gnarly is really funny. maybe not to lara but to the rest of us LMAO.
we have an inside joke during “my way” where we just target one person to try and make laugh the whole performance. me & manon both have well known cases of ijbol but we’re also extremely competitive so this is really serious for us. dani & yoonchae are the hardest to get tbh because they both lock in so hard 😭
me and megan recently made secret stantwt accounts 🥀 we also made a hate acc just to see what ppl would say and it was actually so funny im surprised we didn’t get doxxed tbh.
