Akasha from Queen of the Damned

When I made the list for Fanguary I wanted to make it more diverse. The first one coming to mind being the Queen herself played by the late Aaliyah. Let it be known that I never want to draw this much jewellery for another month or more because holy god it made me curse. However, I think I can admit, I kinda cooked.

Also, to add my personal two cents. While I understand that Akasha is implied to be Ancient Egyptian and therefore people often fancast her as more Mediterranean looking, I would totally be down for a more Early Dynasty Nubia influenced casting and styling. After all, the Greco-Roman influence to Egypt was a lot later and whilst Cleopatra VII was Ptolomeic and therefore not black, a lot of the earlier dynasties were and it shouldn't be erased from the history.

Four limbed ancient vampire creature. I simply love going back to the most popular classic creatures and try to do something unexpected with the design. Behind this look was the idea of the Béla Lugosi Dracula “collar”. Why? Who came up with that now iconic look? So I was thinking that one of the filmmakers must’ve encountered a real vampire and mistook the eco-chambers on the vampire’s shoulders to be collars. The wings also like cape draping and framing the body with double limbs as the creature also has hands to grab. Hope you like it! Finally art; I’ve been a bit lazy, half worried for not being artist enough half saying “it’s okay you need it”, urrgh I love my head but sometimes it’s a bit bit extenuating. Agharrin with some flowers, I was trying illumination and my ecolines. Somewhere in the process I mixed sepia with carmine by disaster and Rin ended up redhead 🐭 My last drawing of him was a bad experience thanks to some kind of anxiety (?)
