Of course the song wasn’t over, and of course, he didn’t know all the words, basically just the chorus of it all. So he just happily hummed along until there was another part that he knew. “I’M IN LOVE WITH YOUR BODY! Tobias looks up from his book and arches an eyebrow. “No. Horses are real. Horses with fake horns are real although I don’t know why one would do that to such a beautiful thing, but…why? Did one of those TV shows you watch tell you to find a unicorn?”

“Yeah. It said unicorns were real, but you’re saying they’re not?” John looked pretty disappointed about that. He’d got excited about the idea, but no, apparently it wasn’t true - and he couldn’t keep his face from falling because of it. 

“A unicorn would be pretty cool though. Imagine a horse stabbing someone. It’d make a great story.”

“It’s not bollocks, it’s a tentacle.” He waggles it in front of Liam’s face, ignoring the command not to say anything, instead generating three more to poke Liam multiple times. “Would you like some coffee?”

Instantly - instinctively - Liam shuts his eyes again and silently counts to ten before he dares to open one to make sure it’s over. It is evidently not. So he raises his hands as to swat away the tentacles, yet realising it’d only mean more contact. He drops his hands again, getting fistfuls of the blanket while he tries to pull the very same over his head. “It’s bloody disturbing! Stop that! Or... fuck, just let me get caffeinated.”

  “Oh are there? Because I can’t seem to be able to find the fucking off switch.” Being polite? Please. As though Stan was going to ask Tobias for any favors anytime soon. Respect was earned from him, and with that came the dignity of asking politely. “You’re the one who keeps coming to my city. Why the hell would I leave.”
