It would have been impossible to match the amazing debut album that Van Halen released in 1978. However, Van Halen II is a really, really good follow up album and displayed they weren’t going to bitten by the sophomore jinx. There are some kick-ass hard rock songs that are the precursor to the awesome Women and Children First album. Songs like Somebody Get Me a Doctor (yeah!), Bottoms Up! (yeah!), Outta Love Again, Light Up the Sky, and D.O.A. are all scorching hard rock at its finest. I seriously never get tired of listening to classic Van Halen. It sounds as good today as it did back in the day.
