Today I learned

About a real life Red vs Blue!  We read about it in class today. A marine general, known as Paul Van Riper was given his own army and base in a simulation drill as he was pitted against another army with higher technology and equipment. 

The code names? The Red Army (which he led) and the Blue Army (which he fought against). 

Van Riper fought a hard battle, and eventually won (sorry Blues), but he was locked in a stalemate for sometime. This is a quote from him: 

“They said that Red Team would be surprised by that. Surprised? Any moderately informed person would know enough not to count on those technologies. That’s a Blue Team mind-set.” 

Doesn’t that even sound like something Sarge would say (albeit a bit more sophisticated)?????

A firefighter responded to head-on collision and found his wife and young son among the victims. “It’s my family. My wife was laying there on the ground,” firefighter Aaron Van Riper said. “I don’t know how either one of them lived. There was nothing left of that car.” Both his wife, Amber, and son, Jonathan, 7, were airlifted to the hospital. Both suffered multiple fractures.
