Van Van Oil.
What is Van Van Oil? Van Van oil is one of the most common conjure oils that was created and used in the city of New Orleans. But it is not a part of traditional Hoodoo.
This is to me a good oil if done right. It is used in many spells to bring good luck, keep evil spirits away, to attract love, to open roads to new possibilities, and to break jinxes and curses etc. It is used to enhance any workings by making a little bit stronger it's a multiply purpose oil...
History: I hear that Van Van oil began as a conjure oil in the Algiers district of New Orleans in the early 1900s. Which actually isn't in New Orleans but across the river of the Mississippi. Verbena Cologne aka Van Van goes back the the 1700s and used as a bug repellent. Later this Van Van Oil is used in traditional southern Hoodoo is used to dress candles, feed your mojo bags, used in spiritual washes and baths.
The name Van Van comes from the French word Verveine, or in Creole language of New Orleans, Vervain was pronounced as “Vaah-Vahn” and over the years its was spread across the country and ended up settled on Van Van.
After the product started appearing in magazines in the 1930s and 1940s in the 70s spiritual shops were selling it with Vanilla in it probably to make it smell different and more appealing to the rich. But if you see vanilla in the van van your going to purchase don't buy it. In traditional van van some of the main ingredients are lemongrass, verbena, ginger grass, if they don't have at least these it's not real..
Using Van Van Oil: It's basically is a multiply purpose oil that can be worn on the neck as a Cologne or Perfume. Dress your candles or used it to feed gris gris bags / mojo bags. If you don't want to use Florida Water. That should be done every few weeks at least once a month. You can read Psalm 4 as you light the candle or the 23rd Palms is good to.
