Like I can easily see her pulling Bert as soon as they got on the ship and telling him "everybody falls in love with Pappy at least once, so if you get a shot you'd better take it"

Van and Bert Chapman I fucking LOVE you and I couldn't be happier with everything between them that episode.

Bert is this wiry little man who could be knocked down probably quite easily, but around his big strong wife he isn't scared. He's NEVER afraid when he's around her.

And saying that right as we get the mirrored idea of needing to have a use from Van and Tazzt just UGH.

I can't put all my thoughts into proper words right now but more than anything I'm happy they've essentially confirmed everything in my fics. The mirrored emotions, the strong sense of duty and protection, seal and selkie motifs, Tazzy and Van not being wholly separate (she thinks the curse alien it isn't), Comfrey always having been involved like some infallible fact, just every bit of it is... ugh I LOVE THIS SHOW.
