Xenoblade 1 & 2 (& a bit of 3) (spoilers, btw)-
You are a young a young man living a quote unquote "normal" fantasy life in a world where humanity (if that's even the right term) lives on the back of giant titans.
As it turns out, you have a destined lineage, fated to be the standin replacement for a legendary figure from the world's past! Lucky you!
One of your partners/romantic interests is a living weapon, an ancient and powerful sword that can change the world, who that legendary figure was like a father to.
This weapon, one third of the so-called "trinity processor", can manifest in multiple bodies at the same time, but when they split up one persona has a more demur personality and the other just wants to kill everything. Hrm.
Another partner/your other love interest also, as it turns out, happens to be a living weapon of some note, one of the most powerful around but relatively unknown, though that's a surprise twist for later.
You, your partner(s), a plucky nopon, the bit older military sword-wielder who acts a bit as team parent, the dumb muscle guy who can be oddly wise at times, and the woman who loves him for some reason, travel the world facing off against the threats trying to end it! It's a grand adventure!
And then later there'll be a dlc campaign exploring an area that got cut from the main game for time.
Your father figure, the guy who raised you, has a gruff voice but affable attitude and you love him a lot, but it turns out he knows all the villains and knows way more than he's letting on?? wtf Dad??
Then there's that nopon asshat Bana, who keeps making life difficult with his crime empire bullshit.
Also this shouty but well-meaning old guy named Vandahm keeps trying to teach you how to fight (oh shit did he just die??)
And the posh animal-features girl keeps making fuck me eyes at you. You'll need to figure that whole situation out at some point.
Later, you're going to show up in the dlc campaign for a later game where you get to mentor your kid alongside the partner/wielder of one of the other trinity processor units (which makes him your, what, brother in law? wait does this world even have marriage?)
Wait what do you mean the animal girl became queen of everything during the timeskip?
What do you MEAN that god (the one who created the trinity processors) accidentally the earth in half and himself with it and that's the origin of this fantasy setting?
Oh shit was that a fucking Xenosaga reference?
