My daughter in-law is my second favorite Mrs. Wheaton. She's one of my favorite humans, and I love her to pieces. So when her husband, who is also my son, asked me if I would bake her a cake for her birthday, of course I said yes. I adore them both and it was a rare opportunity to be a capital D Dad for them. She doesn't use social media, so I can show you the results of ... drumroll ... MY VERY FIRST CAKE THAT I'VE EVER BAKED ENTIRELY FROM SCRATCH! The #vandaleyes was an edible addition from @annewheaton, because of course it was. As I said in my stories, it looks a little more #nailedit than Great British Bake Off, but I totally don't care. I'm super proud of myself. It was really fun to do. And I'm super grateful that I have this relationship with my son and his wife.
