TWO BANKSY MURALS DEFACED

Only a few days after a theft from the Louvre, two more famous works of art have been defaced by a vandal. Murals by "Bansky," the pseudonym of London artist Richard Maysheever, have been a common sight around London with their obvious moralistic banalities that sell prints for millions of dollars to the people they claim criticize. But today, two of them were marred by the work of another graffiti artist known only as "Sexual Penis."
The common graffiti, which is devoid of artistic merit and serves only as a crude reminder of "bathroom poetry," has devalued these brilliant works of also common graffiti, leading to a discussion across the art world of whether Bansky's work is inherently superior to the new graffiti, or whether this is a mere evolution of his work for the vulgarity of our times.
According to art and theater expert Bertolt Brecht, "Warum hast du mich vom Tod zurückgeholt? Bitte lass mich wieder ruhen. Ich flehe dich an…" Troubling words indeed.
