@redgentleengie asked: [ gift ]:
Jonathan holds out a box wrapped in a cheery paper to Vanessa. "It's been a year since I got assigned to this location. I have a little tradition of getting something for the staff member who helped me settle into each location I work at, even if they were forced to because they were the only person who could do the job," he said with a chuckle.
In the box was a new flashlight, but while it had the Fazbear branding on it, it was made of different materials; the outer casing was a sort of fiberglass, made to be highly resistant to damage in case of being dropped, or in a pinch, as a weapon. The bulb inside was an LED that not only shone brighter, but used less power. Twisting the head of the flashlight made the lens expand or contract, allowing the user to have a pinpoint, high-intensity beam, or a wide, low-intensity one.
"I hope you find it useful," the mechanic said.
Vanessa wasn’t used to receiving gifts, at least not pleasant ones, and so the box is taken rather gently into her hands. While it is true that management had asked her to show Jonathan around the first day, she didn't mind it at the time as it was nice getting to meet new faces. You don’t see a lot of people when you work the night shift.
The flashlight is inspected, a soft whistle as she moves it from hand to hand to feel the weight of it and play around with the bells and whistles.
“This is..I…th-thank you Jonathan. This will certainly be useful for the night shift.”
The next day Jonathan would find a mug waiting on his work desk, the print on the side is a bee wearing a hard hat.
