So WWE fans, the fact that Vince McMahon deliberately shut down the potential of wrestling unions twice and has contributed to right to work states like Florida and now he has mass released several employees unceremoniously preparing to sell the company to Fox or Disney shows you don’t actually care about the wrestlers.

I mean Braun was a WWE lifer and stood up for the company and now his ass is without a job after getting a serious injury.

Meanwhile, y’all gave shit to AEW about Jack Swagger and Chris Jericho but at least AEW cares about their talent. When Speaking Out trended, AEW disciplined its offending members or fired them. Every single one of WWE’s culprits save for Jack Gallagher still work there or did work there for a year. And when AEW releases people, it’s at their request or their contract simply runs out. Compare WWE releases versus AEW during the pandemic. AEW only released two people: Bea Priestley and some woman who was enhancement talent anyway. And they did it in an ethical way i.e. waited until their contract ran out. WWE had the most profitable year in its company’s history yet unceremoniously fired over 30 of its talent. Unlike WWE, AEW signed a bunch of people during the pandemic and helped lower promotions like TNA and NWA with exposure this giving more wrestlers more money and talent during a year where everyone needed some reassurances.

Say what you want about AEW fans but at least they care about the wrestlers. I don’t like Cody, Jericho, and the Khans are a suspicious bunch of exploitative capitalists (look up the Jaguars and the NFLPA) but compared to Vince McMahon, they are practically saints. AEW is not perfect. I know it’s a shit show too. But McMahon created this culture of exploitation in wrestling and helped push this into idea in general labor practices.

My Theory on Retribution

So Retribution made their first actual appearance tonight on Smackdown where we could see them a lot closer than the security camera footage from Raw. There were about five members, at least two girls and three guys. While I don’t have theories on who they all are, I do have a few:

Vanessa Borne is one of the girls. From what I could tell watching it tonight, it looked like one of the girls had longer curly brown hair. As far as I’m aware, Vanessa Borne is the only female wrestlers with brown curly hair.

Dominick Dijakovic and Tommaso Ciampa are also part of it. This is a theory going around and it’s pretty solid. Neither have been seen since their last matches and both deleted their twitter accounts. Plus, one of the guys yelling did sound kind of like Tommaso.

Leon Ruff is part of it. I know, I know, he’s mainly a jobber. But hear me out, there are a couple of things that make me think he’s part of it. First, WWEPC posted a video about him just this past week, something they don’t usually do for wrestlers who are just jobbers. Second, one of the seemingly male members appeared to have darker skin, as seen by his hands. He also appeared on the smaller side, leading me to instantly think “Leon Ruff”. And third and most importantly, just because he’s currently a jobber does not mean he’s going to be one forever. Remember, before SANTOS FUCKING KIDNAPPED THEM (sorry, but HE DID KIDNAP THEM), both Raul and Joaquin were mainly jobbers, but now are powerhouses in Legado Del Fantasma.

The other female member could be Chelsea Green? She was supposedly moved up but hasn’t been seen in a while, like Vanessa Bourne. I thought the other female had straight brown hair, which would be like Chelsea.
