Here’s my divine soul sorcerer Vanetta! She’s a fictional character that got yeeted into the real world by time portal shenanigans… or something. she’s heavily inspired by villainess isekai webtoons and she’s a ton of fun to play. She’s the last Out of Time party member… for now! We have someone new joining soon 👀

Vanetta’s token art was drawn literally THREE YEARS AGO so I figured it was time to draw her some new token art! Vanetta is an aasimar divine soul sorcerer and is a fictional villainess that was isekai’d out of the book she was from and into the real world.

you know i don’t generally talk much about the goings on with my dnd characters here, but if y’all are interested i would LOVE to

these are my current characters:

Vanetta Bellamy, aasimar, level 7 divine soul sorcerer, a high noble and former fiancée to the crown prince. also a fictional character and a “villainess.” she started as a pact of the tomb warlock with an arch mage patron (i KNOW it’s extra tasty considering what’s just happened), but as much as i love the flavor i hate playing warlock so i re-classed her around level 3 or 4 and her patron was revealed to be a farce. her game is called Out of Time.

Roxanna Dufort, human, level 6 wild magic sorcerer. she’s also a noble, but from the border. she is the middle child of a margrave who protects civilization from the Wastes, where abominations roam. she has a mysterious magical illness that no cleric or paladin has managed to heal. recently a corporeal manifestation of someone important to her called her “Hilda” in front of the party. her game is L’appel du Vide, aka Call of the Void.

Hemlock, “human,” level 14 onomancy wizard, fey-lost background. (this is an unearthed arcana subclass that was never officially released because while the flavor is incredible, the actual mechanics are rough) Hemlock is a normal human girl that was adopted by fey in her infancy—or so she thought! turns out she is actually the daughter of an ancient blue dragon who initially was set up as the campaign’s BBEG and who we thought was a lich. she’s only recently discovered her relationship with him and they’re getting to know each other. her campaign is Chains of Fate.

i realized with my recent vanetta posting that i’ve left out a very important semi-recent development (her backstory for context)

most recently the party has time traveled to a vaguely medieval time period where a lich arch mage is terrorizing the land with an undead army.

this is also the time/place that the book series vanetta comes from is based on

meaning, the guy her ex-fiancée (edmund) was based on is here. his name is redmond.

and he’s engaged to a woman named charlotta. the name of the isekai protagonist that stole vanetta’s man is charlotte. and charlotta is like this weird amalgamation of the two of them.

some context on vanetta and edmund’s relationship is that she was raised from childhood to be his fiancée, to be the crown princess. she chose to be hard so he could be kind.

and at the time that charlotte got isekai’d into vanetta’s book world, her and edmund were already in a rough place because she’d suffered a premarital miscarriage and there was a lot of political pressure and other stuff going on that fractured their relationship. tldr is it’s complicated but edmund not supporting her thru that shit and in fact leaving her is still the deepest betrayal possible for vanetta. but ofc the book she’s from didn’t include those details and she just looked like a crazy jealous spurned lover.

anyway, getting back to game stuff. redmund is unyielding in performing his duty as crown prince, to the point of cruelty. he loves charlotta in a selfish way that borders on obsession, to the point where he puts her safety over the lives of everyone else in his kingdom, including her unborn child, against her wishes.

and it’s after this moment when he makes a deal with the devil to let the undead have permission to enter the castle in trade for charlotta’s life that she 1 dumps his ass 2 loses her sense of self enough that she soul merges with vanetta.

during this merge there’s a very weird energy between vanetta (who is steering the 2 girls one body) and redmund, who is irate that his beloved has been soul merged with this horrible woman… who he also finds incredibly appealing. bc she also understands power and its cost. they have several verbal altercations that are both heated and cold and also kinda sexually charged in a hateful way.

as time progresses, charlotta and vanetta become… acquainted with one another’s minds and histories in a painfully intimate way. they even manage to connect after a horrible night where a vampire disguised as charlotta’s dad attacks her. the girls talk about what it means to be seen as a villain, what it means to be real, the pain of loving someone who’s hurt you. vanetta says something about how the prince is supposed to be righteous and kind, strong but not cruel. and he’s supposed to love you.

and for the first time, she breaks down crying. up until this point in the campaign she has been very standoffish/private about anything personal but with charlotta literally in her head that was not possible. and for the first time vanetta thought that maybe being known wouldn’t be too bad.

and the next fucking morning when the two girls finally separate back into their own bodies, charlotta is being all buddy buddy with redmund again. and vanetta finds out that charlotta told her whole fucking backstory to redmund, who now looks at her differently. oddly. curiously. almost… longingly?

anyway all that is going on while we’re trying to take on a lich except that went weird too and ended up in a devastating heart to heart between vanetta and the lich

our next session is tomorrow and i am buzzing

anyway hi if you made it all the way here should i keep sharing what happens in my dnd games like this? this is a long ass post and idk if anyone will bother to read it.
