reviewing the mail following the winter break, and it’s so nice to see the holiday cards. they are a tangible tradition that I greatly appreciate, along with the baked goods and eggnog. seeing which card designs people have picked out (or custom-designed), and reading the quickly scribbled handwritten notes, makes for pleasant moments. if I had a mantle, I’d display them on top.
I think my card is the best of the bunch, with a selection of action/travel photos of my son and I, bird photos, and a three-paragraph recap of the year. a non-denominational [there are too many cultural festivities to be specific] headline is used to wrap it all together—this year was ‘celebrate the season.’ if you want one, I don’t mind spending the cost of a stamp to send you one [you’d of course have to send me a name and address, which is understandably awkward; I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of a tumblr penpal of sorts].
Stick with me babe, and I'll make you a coffee drink better than any coffee drink you can get at a Starbucks. Hot or cold.
